F1! F1! Practice sessions 1 and 2!!! the review by ZYX.
F1 cars are loud. Esp when the whole area is bounded by large tall buildings, the sound is really amplified.. Imagine u are walking in Marina Square shopping ( i mean i was) then suddenly vroom vroom. Strongly encouraged to go shopping with f1 cars. very adrenalin pumping experince. Sculi overbuy when shopping coz of the adrenaline pumping. lol
Bring along ur ear plugs.
I noticed at Suntec - Marina Sq bridge they allow public to watch f1. Just go there stand n wear the ear plug. At this point cars hurtle down the track at 330km/h. Not a good place to be as cars are revving at full pitch. very very loud. and they go so fast all u see is streaks of whites and blue and the red (Ferrari). This part of the track is the longest most straight point so the F1 drivers will want to really full throttle it down this stretch.
i mean seriusoly, it is so fast, you can see the road asphalt being kicked up by some of the cars and when they go by a stream of road particles fly up and get illuminated by the seriusoly expensive flood lights!
Streategy in play:
Straight down Towards Nicholl HW
Everyone bank right so as to have a wider turning path and to keep speed high while making the turn (less braking). Noticed ferrari once kept to the left instead of right of road and slow down considerably, maybe the driver try a super slow but less turning path at turn 6. wonder if that was the lap that clocked best time I suppsoe the driver was like thinking with lesser path travelled but at two-thirds of the speed while making turn, maybe can overtake someone / or compelte the lap in less time. Reckon at turn 6 one can actually do overtaking!! reckon on Sunday Ferrari will be seen gg inner lane then jump some poor white car.lol
Turn 6:
Another public watch point is turn 6. the Nicholl HW turn. there u can enjoy sounds of cars braking and the pstons pumping as they brake . Then hear them accelerate off/ At turn 6 u can enjoy the accleration power and braking power of a F1 car.
Watch out for ferrari in bright red, easiest to know is ferrari because bright red. lol.

f1 car photo taking?! @ Suntec Ctiy bridge?!!
Wow, those cars are going at 330lm/h, so fast and its at night. How do i get a pic of my Ferrari then? Heres how i did it.
First of all, u'll need ear plugs. As most of the time you'll end up be
sticking your fingers into your ears and you can hardly snap any pic.
So Lets stuff those ear plugs into our ears first.
The follwing applies to DSLR camera users For those with DSLR, you'll have absoultely no problems getting your shot. But u'd have to have a fast finger for that DSLR shoot button. zoom tiak tiak tiak ( three shot tap) is how it works. try a few shots to see how fast ur DSLR can react. shd be dang fast. and u'll do fine Settings can refer below. Belwo is for compact camera users like me,
For compact camera users , first thing to do is go to your shutter burst mode. At this mode, Your camera essentially can shoot many pics at one go. Under M settings play around with your ISO to get a highest shutter setting. At there u can go up to shutter 1/500 with ISO 400 (grainy pic is inevitable). I left my aperature at F/2.6
For DSLR users, i was advised that u shd try f stop 6 or 7 for typial night shooting of fast moving objects.
After that is a matter of using ur ears, detect the car coming and just hold the shoot button for at last 5 seconds and the camera will just go tiak tiak X14 shots If u r lucky the F1 car u want will appear in the middle of your shot. lol. its a game of lottery for compact users. But good news is practice laps are usually done many times so u'd have many many chances to get the shot.
And one shot shooting (normal shooting) will not work. because compact cameras react slow. so the advice here is to use shutter burst. I shoot at about 1 sec before F1 car appear. Watch ur compact camera screen as u shutter burst, you can see the car appear on screen if u success.
yup thats how i did it. u guys try it too.

The engine sound is lovely-ing futuristic.
I reckon this is a Volvo B10M MK IV DM3500 with a Voith gearbox? Those buses have a whine that makes them sould like a vehicle out of a science fiction movie.

Hmmm... Its loudness is up to 130 dB... No ear plug = jia liak unless you are so getting used to hear it until you season liao.. Lolx..
As for projection laser lights showing "welcome to Singapore F1 night race", is it this place that you saw it?

The lazer wordings are even more harder to capture than Scania K230UB ones.. Even if I increase set my shuttle speed (1/40 sec or slower) and compansate it with apreture value adjustment, part of the words will still be cut off... If don't compansate it, then it will be overexposed for my shots..

Fastest speed was about 289+ km/h recorded.
Yes it was a nice experience... Did not check out much of the shuttles, but 1176C and 1220H were some of them...
Heard 40 buses from all three depots.
