Hmm, if im right 960 started off as fully bendy fleet, I don't remember seeing any rigids on 960 back then.

Sv 960 was advertised as the first full bendy fleet. However the number of bendies available was limited. That's why at times rigid cameos were seen on 960 back then.

960 started in 1996, the bendies (excluding 838H) came in in 1997 or 1998. It started out with 12m Mercs.
I miss the fully Merz DM fleet on 142.

Was service 74 still under AMDEP when it was extended to Upper Serangoon Terminal??
good question. it prob got trasnferred to HGDEp by then. the clues are that 9582 to 9586 came out new new on 74 under hougang. it was 1999 by then. And if i am not wrong , 1999 is the year of the route change to upp Sgoon.
Also some may know that the AMKDEp Los on 74 then moved on to 72. loads of them did so.

Toa Payoh bus services in 1982:
Overview:
Bus services
Toa Payoh in 1982 basically had trunk services serving the whole town, these bus services go one big round (or sometimes rounds) in Toa Payoh, acting as feeders, before going out of Toa Payoh to their destinations. The only feeder service, 230, serves the then relatively new Lorong 8 Toa Payoh Estate.

Road system
As seen from the map above, there are two roundabouts in Toa Payoh, one of them is the more famous (cos its near the town centre) Toa Payoh roundabout at the junction of Lors 1, 2 and 6, the other is a bigger one located at the northern part of the town, at the junction of Lors 1, 6, 8 and the slip road (now renamed as part of Lorong 6) leading to Toa Payoh North flyover.
Also, there wasn't a signalized junction where Lor 4 and 6 meet near the sports complex, and vehicles from Lor 4 cannot turn right into Lor 6 westbound, vehicles who wished to do so had to U-Turn in front of SAF Reservists Association (shortened to SAFRA), which is the reason why the U-turn is so big-its meant for buses u-turning there.
Also note that CTE wasn't completed at that time, and there wasn't a flyover at Kim Keat Link, so vehicles entering Toa Payoh from the westbound Jalan Toa Payoh have to use Toa Payoh South flyover (it was dual-directional).
Bus services starting from Toa Payoh bus terminal were:
73-Upp Thomson Rd
135-Marine Parade
137-Singapore Zoological Gardens
139-Bukit Merah
140-Prince Edward Rd
141-Prince Edward Rd
143-Penjuru Rd
144-Commonwealth Avenue
145-Kent Ridge
146-Kent Ridge
147-Commonwealth Avenue
148-Commonwealth Avenue
149 - International Airport PTB
150-Crawford St
151-New Bridge Rd
152-Bedok
153-Bukit Merah
155-Somapah
156-Upp Serangoon Rd (End)
157-Jurong
158-Chai Chee
159-Ang Mo Kio
230-Feeder via Lor 6, East, 7, 8, slip road, 6, 1 and 2.
B-National Stadium (on days where there are major events at the stadium)
95, between Clementi and Paya Lebar Airport was the only bus service which passed through Toa Payoh proper. While 154 in 1982 simply went pass Toa Payoh using Jalan Toa Payoh.
ZYX:
142 > South Canal Rd
149 > Prince Edward Rd
159: > Outram park Bus terminal (Former food center)
were withdrawn by 1982

Service 74 was extended from Ang Mo Kio to Upp Serangoon sometime in the late 80s.
Amended to terminate at Buona Vista instead of Clementi in 1993 when merged with service 202.
Amended to Hougang Central interchange when it opened in 1994, Upp Serangoon terminal closed on the same day.

Yah.
Note that for the Kim Keat one, it may be a bit confusing, so try and trace the route out.

Toa Payoh bbus services in 1982
Info bites:- (Crucnh sound - bite sound)
1) Curses man:- 153
If you were taking 153 from Farrer Rd (Per say) to TPY, you would have vommited blood along the route. it comes in from bradell rd and just goes loops and loops round Lor 1 and Lor 7 sectors. i would have gotten a headache b4 reaching town centre.
Fortuneatly by 1985, Svc 153 was integrated with svc156. The bus then runs on todays more "common cut thru path" in TPY
2) Svc 73 and Svc 159 route in TPY have not changed over the years
3) The northern circus, aprt of it is now occupied by HDB flats
4) Kim keat Link is gone.
5) Svc 154 and 159 used NDD double deckers) by 1982

Svc 230
Aiayah Today it could have been a great feerder bus,, two directional like 410G 410W serving TPY lor 1 Lor 7 and lor8. But sadly the service served tfirst o lor 7 and 8 then finally to lor 1 folks.
Eventually the lor 7 and lor 8 were retained and given to svc238. A super cool loop zone alg Bradell rd was formed so that residents could trasnfer buses at Bradell rd . Gone are the long looping feeder like rounds made by trunk svcs by then hence the neccessity for this new connection.
The other side of 230 was given to svc 231G and 231W where finally a two directional circular loop svc serving lor 1 and 2 was establsihed .
Today if 230 was still around, They could run it two directional loop like 231.Aiayah
