soon the trains will be just another super long bus.
new buses already indirectly removed seats already, what more do you expect to happen to the MRT............

let's say the train behind has a brake problem (or sth like that) then how?

Even at 6 carraiges, if the last unit develops a braking problem, the result would still be similar.

we will be standing beside the drivers just like we do in buses.

Pity the drivers then. They'll have to breathe so much B.O. that it'll be a wonder not to get involved in an accident.

It tells me that the fucking center of the train carriage is haunted.

The train is so packed.
Even if it brakes suddenly, the commuters won't fall.
Yes, let's remove the handrails too. ![]()

Cant they just install a third door in the middle of the train just like the 3 doors bum in tekong? since no more seat, might as well convert all the wall into door. like that no more jaming at the door...
The idiots decision makers are just solving the symptoms but not the cause.
The govt should look at ways to encourage companies to let their people to work from home or staggered working hours
With more people working from home, there's less cars, less packed trains, also reduce the demand for oil.
But I think they will never push for this solution as it hurts their pockets.
I think the trains have this priority seat thingy. Now remove seats.

No point lah.
If they see that the MRTtrains are not packed during peak hours, they will lower the train frequency to make it more efficient.
In the end, still packed like sardines.![]()

Only senior citizens and pregnant women can sit.

And that is just so mean. Like in the bus. The bus removed seats too. And many of the seats need to climb big steps to go sit. Saw one old woman, cannot bend knee to climb, in the end cannot sit.
charlize,
is it raining in sengkang now? ![]()

What matters is at the end of the year, the company makes money so that management can pay themselves big fat bonuses to upgrade their mercs and lexus' . ![]()

People enjoy being door guardians. Can't help it...the pay must be high to stand at the door. It's the attitude/selfishness of some Singaporeans...you can't help it even if you install a third door now.
It's alot like buses too, at the back, it's empty like it's haunted, and at the front, people are squeezed up like sardines because the idiots at the back refuse to move.

Actually it's more like stupid train designers, these train designs are done by folks who don't take the trains, they probably drive sports car to work.
1) First of all nobody would want to move in to the center of the carriages (away from the door), because when it's packed like sardines, you can't maneuver yourself to the exit (maybe with great difficulty) to alight at your stop. That's why there is a tendency for crowding at the door.
2) Can't the SMRT or train designers take the train during peak hours, so that they can discover the problem and improve on the train design.
3) Maybe they can move all the seats to the center of the carriage and put more doors where those seats used to be, that way you can squeeze more people, ooops I mean sardines in.
4) Else try to eliminate over-crowding of trains by increasing the frequency of trains.
5) Over-crowding is not a good thing, the heavier weighted trains will cause more wear and tear to the tracks and train carriages. If there was an accident, there would also be more casualties.
and they're still encouraging more to take public transportation ![]()
