Further updates I obtained:
The new JB CIQ Complex will be opened on 2/12/08.
However, the new JB CIQ complex will just be a passing-through venue. Passengers and vehicles arriving or departing Malaysia will still have to use the old checkpoint.
No boarding and alighting shall be carried out at the new CIQ complex.
The new routing will apply on the direction towards Pasar Bakti for 160, 170X & 950 and Larkin for 170.
As for vehicles (including SBST & SMRT buses) coming back to Singapore, they need not pass through the new CIQ complex. Instead the current routing will be used (i.e. Jln Tun Abdul Razak) to access the current checkpoint.
The new bus stop 47701 outside JB Sentral will

Transitioning to the new one. Slowly move operations of CIQ from the old one to the new one in probably, phases.

Guess tamago's prediction should be right lol. Which rego/batch of MK4 DM3500s are being transferred there?
-> MK4 DM3500 lifespan still left more than the DM and Striders, so no need to register to Malaysian authorities for at least more than 6 years. I was thinking of that line too.
But I'm suprised though they may not choose the DM or the striders -> Older, "expendable" in a foreign country. Of sorts. But the lifespan left is shorter than DM3500.
Dear Neo
what you taking about this 170e?
is it new SBS service?
Cheers

i gues meanwhile its time to go across to say bye to the old CIQ.i never like it when old things get changed to new. i prefer things as they are

So far these are the 16 Volvo MK4 DM3500s being transferred to BBDEP:-
SBS2719Z (former BNDEP)
SBS2726C (former BNDEP)
SBS2728Y (former BNDEP)
SBS2733G (former BNDEP)
SBS2739R (former BNDEP)
SBS2743C (former BNDEP)
SBS2744A (former BNDEP)
SBS2745Y (former BNDEP)
SBS2750G (former BNDEP)
SBS2755T (former BNDEP)
SBS2773R (former HGDEP)
SBS2789X (former HGDEP)
SBS2796A (former HGDEP)
SBS2820M (former BNDEP)
SBS2822H (former SLBP)
SBS2827U (former BNDEP)
SBS2838M (former HGDEP)
Notice most of the DM3500s came from BNDEP. BBDEP should be continuing to take in more of such buses I suppose, perhaps also from AMDEP too.
I think service 170e is needed as for now, but will become redundant once the MRT downtown line phase 2 is completed.

it depends what buses SBS will use in e future since these buses will have to meet some requirements from e M'sian side. I would still prefer e Striders though, since they alr have emergency doors in e 1st place.

TV Mobile's can be removed =)

Who knows it is another SJE/CW2, then even DTL can't compete with it.

If Skyliners can be removed, why not the TV Mobiles?
Originally posted by n4l:TV Mobile's can be removed =)
Most probably they can be removed and reinstalled on Volvo B9TLs and Scania K230UBs. Same to those TV Mobiles on the outgoing Merc buses too. I wonder whether the TV Mobile's reception will be affected or not when the buses enter into JB areas.
