Yah.i said WE waved to him what.look at my first post la.and he smiled and waved back to both of us.
After all the OC500LEs are all introduced, i think SMRT will continue introducing 12m buses to replace the outgoing buses (O405s) and fleet expansion to temporary compensate for unable to acquire bendies. They still have the existing bendies -> Hispano MK I,II and Habits, maybe redeploy more to high demand routes, while the fleet expansions will be deployed to compensate the bendies and alleviate the full loads situation on some routes.
i remember tamago may have posted before about SMRT "considering to acquire 30-40 units of bendies". :D
Yes...I believe they will need huge fleet expansions to replace the bendies...:(
They're doing a trial on 851 recently I believe...lesser and lesser bendies on full day. Even the passengers are complaning...but there are more rigids bunching and arriving at a higher frequency, still packed to the brim :o.
Fleet expansion will not do for SMRT, what they buy is OCs which is a bus, although sutiable for crash loads, not many seats in the bus, having 3 OCs bunching together would not do to replace a bendies, instead, it would increase the fuel and ERP costs and a excuse for SMRT to raise transport costs,
Can buy Double Deckers. LOL... Save labour costs for hiring additional workers.
Or perhaps they can buy SuperLong Bus, like those of SBS997A.
997A hard to drive......some tiny roads cannot go....

Usually for buses longer than 11m are hard to drive. It's simple physics, buses longer than 11m are harder to turn, especially those sharp turns.

SMB31X on svc 851 today.
SMB31X on 854
There no need dd bus for smrt. just normal sd city buses will do and just hope that the bus will arrive on time anywhere in singapore. I been to japan before, where can you find a dd bus there in public transport? what i like is that the bus arrived on time just as the timing show on the bus stop. example if it said 15min then the bus will arrive in time at 15min. for 2 days the bus arrived on time as the bus stop display indicated. I wonder how they do that? L T A should help to speed up the bus timing by create more whole day bus lane around singapore. ![]()

LOL! DD bendies? I think there will be a need for a big and possibly more noisy engine......
BTW, spotted an unknown OC500LE at around 6:10pm on CTE(Orchard) near Jalan Toa Payoh.
