SMRT New Euro-V Mercedes-Benz OC500LE WAB bus (Part 2)

I saw two unregistered Mercedes OC500LE buses being driven along Woodlands Avenue 9 (near Republic Polytechnic) from the direction of Woodlands Regional Centre towards Woodlands Depot this evening. The front LED of both buses were displaying the SMRT logo, alongside the words "SMRT BUSES" (trying to copy what SBS Transit did to their LEDs - putting logos in them instead of plain words?), while the rear LED displayed the SMRT logo. As mentioned, they were unregistered, and hence carried no license plates, but blue trade plates instead. The seats and paneling on board the bus are still wrapped in plastic sheets.

Telling us that they will not lose out to SBST in the aesthetic department - just plain "SMRT BUSES" seems so 90's as compared to what the SBST's Cool-Air EDSes can do.

hopefully WL can get at least 1 or 2 OCs. shld be enuff. -

It's hard to say la. Chances are that they are going to AMDEP and spam OC500LE on 851...... Or else put on 853 la. Roderick would be happy.

A few WLDEP Standby BCs have already went for OC500LE training. There could be a slight chance for WLDEP to get 34-38 but i dun think so. -

Just a tiny slight of chance for WLDEP to get those buses.. Btw, y do WLDEP taking those CAC 0405s from KJDEP & AMDEP? -

The OC500LEs were mainly allocated to AMDEP & KJDEP. To free up more space for the OC500LEs, the two depots donate their other buses to WLDEP. -
