3. ADDs introduced on more and more services - a sign of service improvements in order to cater to the increasing demands since LTA is promoting public transport as a choice mode.Service 5 got theirs in early Jan, despite my initial prediction that they would not be one of the services to receive them due to the small roads at Loyang. Certainly explains clearly why I think it was the "best ever service that SBST has introduced".
Service 225 got theirs on 18 Feb. Timesheet wise, revision no. 20, both ADDs doing E shifts with no overnight parking. Buses are SBS 9231S for Green plate (3E) and SBS 9355T for White plate (53E). I was surprised when I learnt about it and sent out the info to almost everyone. Response was overwhelming - in one form, there were two of us who went out to take photos of it on their first day.
Service 151 got theirs on 4 Aug, unusually used 4 units of B9s. Bus fans scrambled to Hougang Int as well as Kent Ridge to take photos of it on their first day. Later in same month, got VOs as cameos.
Not forgetting, sv6, 37, 79, 182 as well.
Service 6 gets SBS9836Y as the first VSO cameo.
Service 37 gets SBS9813M as the first VSO cameo as well.
Service 225 gets SBS9811T as first VSO cameo.
Till now, SBS3643B shld be the last Scania N113CRB that cameos on 109. Will there be more? Nobody knows.

It WILL happen again as long as the xover or 966 (assuming still full rigid fleet) continue to exist. Just that it is uncertain.

I think some may have forgotten about quite a number of things that have happened earlier this year, so I shall give suggestions.
2008 has been a very meaningful year for the general public to get to know more about the bus enthusiasts through the media.
Some of the bus enthusiasts here as well as the seniors were featured in a documnetary "iJournalist" which aired on ChannelNewsAsia in Feb this year.
Bus enthusiasts were featured again, this time in Sep. Six of our seniors went onto the show, "On The Beat", on Channel U.
And in omy.sg, bus enthusiasts were featured once again, comprising of three bus enthusiasts.

You missed out one more. 5 busfans were featured in a mini-documentary for the Panasonic Kid Witness News Singapore Competition in October which i eventually directed, together with my school. The version on Youtube wasn't the actual piece due to a special request made by one of the interviewees to not feature him on the internet. So, his part was cut-off.
I suppose for me.....the best scene is to see a DD on 502.....Perfect.

I don't mean that. I mean, till now, the last CRB that Service 109 get, is SBS3643B.
Looking back on Sept 08, TIB792E met a close call accident with a truck at Teck Whye Lane while doing svc 307. From wat i thot, this BC was like 'challenging' with another bus (190 crossover bus) to see whether which bus goes 1st. I rmb when the BC applied full force of brakes.. Woah, the contents of my bag were all sprawled ard the floor lol. Seat covers at the back have all fallen off & i thot i was going to fall to the seat infront of me.. Luckily no 1 was injured, only thing i have to pik up my things back lol

mine... maybe to see bus services going different and interesting route diversions during F1 period. Will the diversons be the same for the nxt few years/
Have you forgotten...
...that two Service 168 drivers lost their way earlier this year?
The first came with SBS 9487X. The Chinese driver apparently did not turn out of SLE into Woodlands and ended up being lost along with his 20 odd passengers. He had actually insisted, according to various sources, that he knows the route and he could drive to the destination by himself but it did not materialise. The bus eventually found itself in Bukit Panjang at around 1300 hrs, a mere 2 hours after being lost. This was the subject of the headlines in the bus scene.
The second one came on the same day. It was reported that SBS 3668E bound for Bedok also lost it's way - it turned into Tampines Interchange instead.

Have you forgotten...
...that there were Free Rides on board 20 buses on 26 Aug 2008?
Great Eastern celebrated their 100th Birthday by giving free rides on board 20 such services. 19 of them had special destos; the last one (Service 30 - SBS 9446P) used the normal desto.
There were bus fans going around Singapore on that very special day trying to catch their free rides (you saved some $$$) as well as photos (We've got someone who took ALL 19 photos of the buses coupled with their special destos within a day alone).
Too bad, I was unable to come and catch them. ![]()
