i believe it's 2+2+4 - for the tag axle (middle axle) is 1 wheel each?
im using the SBST VO diecast as a reference.

i also looked at the model.. but i'm suspecting for the VOs and VSOs might be different..
Could it be the VSOs got 8, where the VOs got 10?
e axles of VOs n VSOs n B9TLs r e same,
2 wheels front, 2 wheels middles, 4 wheels rear.
total = 8.
tamago may be wrong.
2+2+4.
Standard. The driving axle will usually have the additional 2 wheels for better grip and since the tag axle is mainly to reduce the footprint, 2 is sufficient.
For tridents would be 2+4+2. I'm not sure if the rear axle steers by itself according to the road condition. But I should think so, although it is not very obvious.
This feature is lacking in the VSO and B9.
Of course there's the B10M-70....which is also 2+4+2. The last axle is free-steering like the B10MA.
The tag axle turning is obsolete on the B10TL onwards. Cost/R&D issues or redundancy, its not too sure. Hence the absence of a turning tag axle on B9TLs as well.
Most double decks have 2+2+4 tire configuration, although the usage of 'tire count' is not popular in the industry; we refer to a DD wheel config as '6x2', where 6 means 6 'wheels' and 2 means 2 'power wheels'. One 'wheel' does not mean exactly how many tires, its can be one, it can be two. But 'power wheels' are generally understood to be of two tires, at least on common heavy road vehicles.
Hence, a O405, Scania K230UB are referred to as '4x2' when talking about its wheel configuration. Trident and VO come under the same family of '6x2', although a Trident's tire configuration is different from that of a VO (as said above by other folks).

To lower the floor further.
How do I differentiate Batch 1 and batch 2 OCs from the outside?

Batch 1: No exterior CCTV except SMB1H
Batch 2: Exterior CCTV
Batch 1: SMB1H-SMB67T
Batch 2: SMB68R onwards
Batch 1: Right rear view mirror don't have green '!' and yellow sticker.
Batch 2: Right rear view mirror have green '!' and yellow sticker.
Just some examples.

The turning feature (sort of like a 'smart wheel') can be done even on a low floor configuration. Not necessarily taken away because of low floor feature. But I won't kill of the idea that its been taken away to lower the floor further (but hey, they still cannot achieve that of a Trident)...

Originally posted by .SBS9888Y.:okay. firstly. do you know what the term x-over mean?
alot of bus fan dun get it till now lol.
crossover is a DUTY SHIFT involving a parent service crossover to a sub service. LIKE SBS2998J on 105 22S which will crossover by schedule every Weekday to 334 at 1836 hours for 1 trip.
cameo is when a sp bus does some service or a 851 PERM does 854. put it this way, why does 48Z and 49X keep cameo-ing 854 when it perm 851?
SMRT side dun ask me.
Just to clarify my understand of x-over
SBS 1985 C had done before a BNDEP 9 to i think BNDEP 575 x-over right?
And there is a 143 Euro V KUB X-over to 93 right?
thanks in advance

Dual depot services cannot have jumpbus. Single depot services may have jumpbus. The part of whether it has jumpbus depends on the interchange size of shift-change.
For that matter, quite a number of areas have services practicing jumpbus. They are Bedok, Tampines, PSR, TPY, Bishan, AMK, YCK and more.
Clementi, JE & BNL do not practice jumpbus.

From far I only look at whether the bus has the anti-glare strip pasted just below the EDS on the windscreen. That alone can tell. (:

Technically, SLBP don't carry out jump bus... Jump bus usually occurs as an interchange or terminal does not have enough parking spaces for a particular service...

When SBS1985C went to perm 9, 575 was already non-existent (except during occasions like bus tours where seniors will bring out the plates that SBST personnel gave to them for photographs. But then, those are posed "cameos").
So, unless you are talking about a cameo when it was perm 579 then, else its impossible for SBS1985C (BNDEP 9) to do the x-over =)
Edited: SP error.

I think you meant SBS1985C from 9 doing cameo on 579. You sounded like 9 doing crossover to 579.
