New Q:
NDP 2009 Bus Shuttle Service
Any infor to share about the NDP 2009 School Shuttle Services (ex: transporting participants and/or school NE Show, from pick-up point to NDP Site)
Hey just to make sure, are the DR dates for the U31s on 30th september this year?
I want to know, does SBS BCs have the right to do a route diversion if there's a massive jam ahead (E.G. Svc 30 diverts via Shenton Way/Fullerton/Nicoll Highway if ECP had a heavy jam)?

The only B10M MK 3s in Singapore which I want them to have extension are the manual ones. The SBS ones can bite the dust for all I care.

i think the Gemilang bodied Scanias are more chui then the MK IIIs though.

Just wondering, for example, a service 30 DD going in the direction of Boon Lay, there is an accident along ECP before Marina South exit and all the lanes are completely blocked and it will take sometime to re-open the lanes.
Can the OCC allow the service 30 DD to be diverted to use the down ramp to Rochor Rd like service 36, 48 and continue via Beach Rd, Middle Rd, Nicoll Highway >>> Shenton Way, or has to wait for the lanes ahead to be cleared?
Have any off-service DD used the Sheares bridge up ramp and down ramp before?

I prefer the DM 3500 bodied, followed by the "Strider" class ones. Would these be due for retirement after the MKIIIs?
(2)
a) Would the calls from buses to OCCs be like mobile phone calls, or more to walkie-talkie (direct & faster)?
b) How do they call link set to East or West OCC?
Here's a few questions I'm itching to ask, all if not mostly technical ones. Info has mostly been unreliable and so I ask here for proper answers if possible.
1. Are the Voith 0405Gs and DAFs equipped with 3 speed or 4 speed Voiths? If I'm not mistaken, it should be 4 speed, but half the sources say it is 3 and the other half, 4. My guess leans towards 4 speed, but capped at the 3rd due to speed limitors. It won't be surprising since we have 4 speed voith MKIVs. Ah yes, while at it, how about the SBST 0405s? I am also not completely sure that these are equipped with 3 speed Voiths.
2. Are the SBST 0405 engines really the same as the SMRT Hispano 0405s? I really doubt it. Highly likely the SBST 0405s are fitted with less powerful engines.
3. Some sources state that the 4 digit series of Lances are of the 245 variant. Is it true? From what I can see, it is not likely to be true. If so, which exactly are of the 211 variant? The above mentioned Lances right?
4. 1688K is equipped with ZF5 or ZF4? Conflicting sources again. And the CNG brethren, are they equipped with ZF4?
PS: For nostalgia's sake, anybody has a picture of a Dennis Lance back in 1998, with the blue desto?

OCC can allow diversion. Happened that time when a war relic was found at Clementi Ave 1, they diverted buses away from Clementi Rd temporarily. If no bus stops are skipped i think the OCC will likely ask for a diversion bah.

a) Walkie talkie. ive seen the BC of SBS8054T on 100 call OCC when the bus got stuck turning into Queensway due to a congestion ahead . The sound of BC calling OCC is very clear de.
b) Not sure.

lol. imo you make it sound offending to those sbst mk3 lovers. well it's your own opinion so i can't say much anyway. haha.

it's definitely not walkie talkie. walkie talkies normally have a range of 5-10km at the most and encounter frequent disruptions such as static. it's more of a phone call using GRID network to a dedicated line.

Ok, but the only thing i find it strange is that if the DR date is on the end on next month why do i still see Sarpinos Pizzeria'a ad on one of the UD buses, which is on 368Y, and that back sticker on 376Z wasnt removed though

as you know, that's a habit of SMRT not taking out expired ad.
