Never amdep. Mercs were transfered from amdep to hgdep in exchange for MK4s got that 10 days of IMF.

Due to security reasons for the IMF periods, buses that ply through around the city area like suntec city like Express 502, Sv 111, Sv 97, Sv 36 etc are required to have camera inside the bus.

Thus, VO3xs replaced LO3xs on 70, 97 & 133.
Onli MK3s, VSOs & Dennis tridents were not affected.

It looks more presentable in deploying newer buses in the city during such an event. And thus these 'newer' buses are equipped with CCTV for security reasons. LOs from then till now are still the oldest in the double decker fleet.
There's nothing to do with welcome or not welcome. It is the strategies used to suit a major event.

Its also not about image and such but more of the economic sense in installing the CCTVs on older buses. When these buses head of the scrapyard, they need to be removed. CCTVs aint cheap to begin with so what for give to the scrapyard? lol.. Labour is involved.
However, the more impt reason is the compatability of installing these used CCTVs onto new buses when they arrive?

Off-topic: Most of TV mobile had removed from de-registered Merczs.
Regarding CCTV, can keep it (the deregistered one) & giv the one who needs for it. For eg. newly-registered Euro 5s since they still can be used. Tiz can oso help save money too.

The O405s MK3s LOs and the CRBs do/did not have any CCTV. And the installation isn't cheap. If they can still be used, they can be reused.
