just notice the title has been changed to "old singapore roads stories", shall we talk about the tampines road? :D
yes. the topic has chnaged so that we can discuss about old singapore roads, like Tampines rd. However try to keep it to one topic at a time.
Now Tampines Rd
I know the road connected from Upp Changi rd East till Upp Serangoon rd serving some kampungs and farms up there in the deep north east areas of Singapore. Today TPE has cut the road into two bits.
Svc 29 plies the one from Loyang Ave till the Upp Chnagi Rd east part. Svc 72 plies the tampines ave 10 to upp Sgoon Rd part.
In the past feeder svc 403 plied Pasir Ris a branch of Tampines Rd till Tampines Rd.
tampines Rd was then served by svcs 80 and 81 which headed from a Upp Changi rd east junction bus terminus alg to tampines Rd serving the road fully before hitting the Upp Sgoon rd sector then straight down to town area.

The google satellite map shows there's a section of road inside paya lebar airport, was that also a section of tampines road before, but then, becoz of the airport, so the road turns towards north, cross over the runway, then come down again?

The terminal was quite small - like current Sim Pl terminal?
Yes, correct.
It's a small end-of-the-road bus terminal with a container office, same as former Lim Chu Kang terminal.

Cuz there is a part of road name Old Choa Chu Kang Road
It was from Wdl Road/Bt Timah Road to Jalan Bahar/LCK Road.
67 -> 172 covers the approximate alignment of the road.

Service 172 and 175 (now 975) used to ply Choa Chu Kang Terrace. Choa Chu Kang Terrace was in the past a part of Choa Chu Kang Rd before it was re-aligned to connect with Ave 2 and re-named.
The 2 stretchs of Choa Chu Kang Rd that no longer exist are the stretch that crossed over KJE and the stretch that ran through Blocks 460, 462, 462A, 465 & 469. There is a bridge that cross over Sungei Peng Siang beside Blk 460, this is the bridge where service 172 and 175 used to ply on before the re-alignment.
There used to be a road called old clementi road in the 80s. is it true? and is it true that the Jurong Bus Park was the then Jurong Interchange where service 154, 165,196 and 197 terminates at?

Yes, the old Clementi Road was a branch off Clementi Rd that ran somewhere near the Sunset Way estate. Clementi Road was called Reformatory Rd before it was re-named. Clementi New Town was named after Sir Cecil Clementi Smith who was the Governor of the Straits Settlements from 1887 to 1893.
Jurong interchange was closed when Boon Lay interchange opened in July 1990, the interchange was then converted into a bus park before re-located to Soon Lee Rd.

JRBP =/= Jurong Bus interchange, passby there everyday till it was demolished
Remember the whole JRBP was fully parked with NAC DDs aft the BCs returned the buses.
Remember JRBP had 2 bus washing bays, 2 fuel top-up point next to the washing bay, undercarriage repair bay(unconfirmed) & parking lots allocated to different services(mainly JIS) were painted with the Service No.s...
This thread will make a few people feel *very* old. lol

That's right. Jurong Int and Jurong Bus Park were seperated by the canal. Jurong Bus Park continued to operate after Jurong Int was demolished. Jurong Bus Park is not to be confused with Jurong Depot. Jurong Depot a.k.a. Teban Gardens Terminal was located at Penjuru Rd.
The site of Jurong Int was later used as a temp holding area for retired LAs and O305s before they were scrapped.
i belive that the old taman jurong road is called
Taman Jurong 1,Taman Jurong 2 and so on until Taman Jurong 10
they had change the road name to
Yuan Ching Road,Kang Ching Road etc..
i wonder where they find the road name.. hmm
