Introduction of a new NTU Shuttle Bus Service between NTU
campus and Pioneer MRT Station
impossible for me to copy & paste everything. i'll only post the crucial details.
According to instructions, we are only allowed to pickâ€up and dropâ€off passengers only at the bus stop (code is 22529) directly outside Blk 649A, Jurong West Street 63. However, within the campus, passengers of the shuttle bus service may board or alight at bus stops currently designated under Route “A”, as well as the two
newly designated bus stops located near International House and Admin Building.
for you to know :
Route A follows the 179 route in campus, turning left after the Hall 4 bus stop to run in circles.
this shuttle service however will take the left exit at the roundabout(179 takes the front exit) & go up the slope for 2 stops before u-turning and coming back down, joining the roundabout and take the left exit(which is now 179's exit) to continue on the Route A shuttle.
outside campus, it will follow 179 route & stop at pioneer MRT bus stop where boarding/alighting takes place. then it's a left turn to jw st 61 & another left at jw west ave 4, b4 turning right to pioneer road north, back to NTU.
The original bus stop at Teban Gardens Rd near Blk 41(where 30 79 143 passby) has been closed and a temporary bus stop is built a few metres away for unknown reason.

road works or infrastructure upgrades? That usually happens when bus stops are moved from its original location.

freq wont be so rapid one that's for sure.
in the mornings to school, nothing can beat SBST 179A.
however, this bus would be a clear winner if it comes before any 179 during the PM peak. even now, i feel SBST still injecting a lot of S179A in the afternoon/evenings which run empty most of the time back to Boon Lay Int.

cos after all if 179A makes additional call at Pioneer MRT, the bus stop would likely be clogged easily and neighbourhood residents might start complaining.
I think tat's why we've done away w/ roadside terminals except notably Ghim Moh
