frequency is matched to demand of the service. of course everyone will be happy with 1-minute frequencies, but are you willing to bear the cost?
what's with 15 minutes if you can't make use of travel planning tools like iris or keeping track of schedules for frequently used routes? that's about the maximum you'll ever wait for 80% of the bus services.
below is the official standard for bus service frequencies:
a) At least 80% of bus services to operate at headway of not more than 15 minutes (to be changed to 10 minutes with effect from Aug 2009) during weekday (excluding public holidays) peak periods, unless otherwise stipulated by the PTC.
b) With effect from 1 August 2008, at least 85% (to be changed to 90% with effect from 1 August 2009) of feeder bus services to operate at headway of not more than 10 minutes during weekday (excluding public holidays) peak periods, unless otherwise stipulated by the PTC.
c) At least 85% of bus services to operate at headway of not more than 20 minutes during off-peak periods, unless otherwise stipulated by the PTC.
d) 100% of bus services to operate at headway of not more than 30 minutes, unless otherwise stipulated by the PTC.
have we become a city where getting things done fast is so important as to sacrifice sense?
Makes sense. 1 minite frequnceies? Wow, that would mean a lot of buses on one service.

Actually, I don't mind if you are saying that buses bunch up and thus create a gap in frequency. Also, the bunching might be due to delay. I feel that waiting for 15 mins for a bus in peak hours is considered quite average to me.
15mins still ok leh.
i got wait 20-25mins before one leh!
damn fed up.
My record time waiting for one bus was around 40 minutes. Don't know what happened, but to be fair, that was one time only.
but, i'm waiting like 15-20 minutes at off peak hours to get to the geographically nearest mrt station at my place...and its not a special service, normal trunk service that's supposed to come every 10 minutes~ only have 1 at my place.
it gets up to 20-30 minutes..or even 40 just to get to the mrt station during peak hours or when a driver takes MC and there's no driver for that shift.
can you beat that?? :o~ no this is not one off, but on an everyday basis.
bus 985 always like this one, sometimes morning peak hrs period i wait for 20mins for one bus to come.
& during non-peak hr, i was waiting for other buses, scali i see two 985 buses come between 10 mins -.-
I have waited 45 minutes for a bus. I also don't know what happened.
Mine simple.. If i wait for the direct bus more then 15 - 20 mins, there will be alternative way
For example:
your alternative ways cost more if you're not a student with a concession pass....as an ordinary peasant of singapore, i can't afford to constantly change buses and can only afford the basic fare...which is usually one direct bus to the place of my choice/the mrt station.
