TIB1168B brokedown at Jurong East Central (just after leaving the Bus Stop O/S Blk 241) at about 0830 hours. Engine compartments were opened for inspection. -
Lol. Anyway, TIB1088Z got the side newly painted in SMRT livery; a huge piece of ads on the side gone, should be gotten scrathes. Also, a new window glass on the other side. The 'GLENN' word become 'GL N'.
TIB1144U got a new window glass at the back. Don't know what happened.
TIB1159C also the same as TIB1088Z, but is slightly better.
** All are 960 buses.**

Saw TIB587G with new glass window, also at the back, part of the Oxy ads stick on the window is gone -

Date: 3 Jan 2009, Saturday
Time: 1050hrs (at time of witness)
Location: (09141) British Council/Opposite Gleneagles Hospital cum Medical Centre
Nature of Breakdown: UnknownDetails:
1. TIB 0672T was preparing to leave bus stop 09141 when the bus broke down. All passengers have alighted from the bus at time of witness.
2. The BC was seen standing outside the bus. The only alarm raised to indicate the breakdown were flashing turn signal lights. -

no public bus was involved in any accident/breakdown. say first.
but an accident on SLE(TPE) near the upp thomson flyover ard 11am today caused tailback till Woodlands Ave 12 exit.
at least SIX pairs of 161/168 were seen stuck in the tailback. traffic didn't move at all. i was driving along the opposite direction counting the number of 161/168s.

On new years eve, an accident involving a a van and a car caused a massive obstruction at the junction between Hougang Ave 9 and Hougang Ave 4....Buses along ave 4 (88, 161, 159, 156, 109) all bunched up as they couldn't pass. The van left the scene sometime later, allowing those going straight (88, 161) to pass leaving the rest stuck as the car could not be moved.
Those turning into ave 9 remained stuck. One 159 tried to get around the situation by.....going straight down ave 4, turned to ave 8, and then entered st 61 (like NR6), and then.....found itself stuck there by the stricken car, adding to the chaos.
As the other buses saw the 159 emerge from the street, they almost turned out. Fortunately, the 159 driver ran out across the street and told them to stay put.
So the endstate, at least when I was there was the lane turning into ave 9 blocked by buses. And st 61 also blocked by bus! When actually cars could manage the turns.
Imagine all the curses heaped at the stuck 159 at the one-way street, st 61.

TIB1026C on 106(KJ SP) spotted breakdown 1pm+ at Commonwealth Ave bus stop near buona vista MRT. the engine cover was open.

SBS9597L on service 23 broke down along Bendemeer Road. The mechanic was there at 6.30PM.

SBS7353L on 196 brokedown along C'wealth Ave West (near Buona Vista MRT Stn) at about 1000 hours. Accident/Breakdown Hazard sign was placed at rear of the bus. -

TIB632J got a new window near the back. A piece of Mad About English ads gone.

Buses involved: TIB811J(969) & TIB1196U(903)
Place: Woodlands Regional InterchangeDiscription:
I was about to board TIB564Y of 966. Then I saw TIB811J picking up passengers. It stopped beside TIB1196U, which was parking at a berth before 903,858.969 berth. Then, BC saw a Mercs O405(965) infront, he didn't realise he stopped near TIB1196U, when the bus turned right, it knocked down the right mirror onto the floor. At that time, TIB1196U move to the left abit by the force and TIB811J shoke like it had gone up a kerb. Its side window glass had web-like cracks and a big hole. The passengers at the back moved away and abit shocked. Then, at the berth, alot of people saw the scene. Some stood near both buses while some went onto the road to look at the damage to TIB1196U.Breakdown (Info by my brother, he took the bus)

SBS9671E(HG 51) broke down inside JE Int, bus on tow by SBST Recovery Truck at 6.10pm

it broke down after the sheltered linkway, then the mid bumper was removed for towing. think it is rear axle got prob. -

SBS8485H - had rear door sensor problems, bus captain restarted the bus but to no avil. he had to clean the sensors thrice before it is able to close.
A SMRT bus (suspected rego: 926H) , broke down near frontier library. Tow trucks came at 6.40pm to tow the bus.

TIB864 broke down in Bt Panjang Int around 7.30am at the 177/184/700 berth. Caused a jam whenever a bus stopped beside it to pick up passengers. Engine cover open and the SL kept fiddling with the ezlink system.

TIB1226S broke down on southbound alexandra rd at around 3+pm. I believe its on 963 as the EDS remnants still look like 963. No idea what was the cause.
SBS7470G broke down on 143 at around 6.15pm at Toa Payoh Int. Repair truck on site. I was actually trying to catch this bus but gave up after waiting for a few mins at thomson rd, was on a 56 back home when i saw this incident.

Is it a breakdown? I saw an orange man around but thought 7470 is just parking there.

Its TIB854K. That day 184 freq quite screwed up in the morning. Might be caused by this.

TIB827P on 187 spotted breakdown at JW St 64(opp BNL int) which stopped besides median. Cause unknown but i saw the front axle turning right to the max. BC is inside the bus when seen.
