how about 2756R, 2790R, 2792K, 9276M? are they in BN all the way till now?

what about the Batch ones and twos? were the buses from 88 all from BN last time?
the batch 3 VOs were mixed. IIRC, the SBS961x ones were from BNDEP while the remainder from AMDEP. in the past 88 was bram / bndep controlled, until converted to FAC then bram took over full control and implemented jump bus.
88 was launched as a PAC service with NAC N113CRBs also perm on it.. but demand proved too great and was converted to FAC soon after.

SBS2754X - SBS2757M were perm BRAM 88 when the service first began.
hmm i see. looks like last time there were alot of buses on 88?

batch 1 just only 9276 while batch 2 just a few only, 3 smth liddat.
last time when SBST got ads-outdoor website, it shows all SBST svc with deployment fleets. i rmb clearly because of that.

It was an ex-amdep/bram bus.

not exactly lol. They have a higher risk of catching fire due to their powerplant being more powerful.

Yap, I think that's the mean reason why SBST don't want to purchase the bendy but preferred the double decker. The rear pair of the wheels is providing the propulsion for the whole bus.

The reason why SBST did not acquire bendies after SBS998Y and SBS999U is because of infrastructure in SBST's depot/interchange constraints even though the supposed benefits outweigh the cons. TIBS however, had another constrasting view, they recongised the potential benefits of the third exit door at the trailer and higher capacity/ accessiblity of the bus. DDs need to climb stairs, not so good for elderly people.
And bendies do not have any height restrictions, and they can be deployed rather easily on high capacity routes without too much turns and bends. But they do take up road space and are a bit more tricky to maneuveur
For both the DD and bendy, the rearmost axle is the one powering the bus forward.

Wrong, 998Y's driving axle is the middle axle.

Yes, but 998Y's not in SG, and my post is referring to the fleet of SMRT O405Gs.
sorry for confusion.

i think partly cuz of 998Y being a Volvo B10MA with a midmounted engine, making the middle a driving axle better. While 999U is a Merz with a rear engine so rear driving axle is "better"
Yes. 988Y's configuration is a puller bendy (due to the mid engine config of B10M) while 999U, like most O405Gs the configuration is a pusher-bendy.
Due to the B10M bendy mid engine configuration, the rear axle at the trailer could turn. But the disadvantage was that the people in the trailer of the puller bendy can experience some unnatural G-forces when turning.

it's not about better.
it's abt where the engine is.
