Accident and Breakdown Thread 2009

TIB1036Z (KJDEP SP) on 67 broke down at New Upp Changi Rd towards Choa Chu Kang Int at about 5.15pm today. The engine was still running at time of witness :S

SBS9824G (BN 28) broke down inside TPY int about 5pm.
- Bus was doing svc 28
- Recovery arrived 1/2 hr later to fix engine
- After that it managed to go back on its own to BN off svc.

SBS 1947M(BNDEP SP)on Svc 31 broke down along Toa Payoh Lor 6 at about 6.44am towards Tampines

I saw it on SBS 8591J on Svc 73When the bus past SBS 1947M I saw the passengers tap the front ezlink card reader near the front door before alighting..

SBS573P (AMDEP 22) broke down at the bus stop of Blk 206 Serangoon Central. Time of spotting was at 1810hrs, all destos removed; breakdown triangle was at the rear & no recovery truck was at location.

TIB1144U (WLDEP 960) - On Perm svc, 960. Saw the bus at the side of the road(forgot the name, near the BPLRT, and near BP Interchange.
Saw a mechanic attending to the bus, with the maintenance truck behind it. Spotted ard 9.10pm.

An accident happened, around 11.30pm, involving a taxi, a car and SBS2722M on 162M (2nd last bus) at bishan road/st22 traffic junction. The car crash with the taxi while turning right from bishan road to bishan st 22. SBS2722M was behind the taxi, thus blocking both the lane at bishan st 22 in the direction towards marina centre.
3 410w (in order, SBS3781K, SBS8538P & SBS8483M) & the last bus of 162M (adless DM3500) were affected. the 3 410w were stucked at the bishan road traffic junction, while the last bus of 162M was stucked while trying to right turn to st 22.
SBS8538P & SBS8483M on 410w were diverted to ply bishan road > bishan st 21 > marymount road > sin ming ave and resume their journey. SBS3781K and SBS2722M waited for the traffic to clear and resume their journey. no idea on how the last bus of 162M was diverted.
Traffic resumed at 12.15am.

SBS9039G on 157 spotted brokedown at the bus bay of Jurong West Ave 1 Blk 422 bus stop at 0656. the bus was pulled to a corner and interior lights were all on.

TIB846J broke down at Boon Lay Way , Opp Lakeside station. Time was about 3pm.Engine cover opened.

SBS624B on 170 broke down at Upper Bukit Timah this morning at 11am due to brake failure. I wanted to board this bus at first but the BC told us not to board as there is something wrong the brakes. He then declared the bus breakdown

SBS7402D broke down at 4+pm on Boon Lay Interchange.

SBS 902 Z [BN SP] broke down on svc 291 (replacing 778r) at Tampines Int at 0640. Cause unknown. 2 mechanics seen driving bus back to BNDEP. Replacement bus: 583k.

Saw it with no pax and EDSes off at Scotts Road (before bus stop) at around 4pm.
There was a (normal) bike in front of the bus. No damage, no apparant accident. There was a TP bike there too
~Anyone wanna make a guess what happened~?
I think both were caught for cutting white line at Orchard Boulevard, ehehe.

SBS 2807 C (BN 222 / 30e) was involved in an accident with 2 other vehicles (a car and a van) along Bedok North Ave 4 opposite Blk 96 on Sunday 23 Aug at around 6.30 pm. The bus was off-service, believing to be heading to BNDEP. 3 persons were sent to hospital.
