SBS543B (svc 73) had the extra AC unit removed and now look the same as original Fuji air-con.

yes; the interior & exterior modified unit were all removed. If taking a closer look of the ceiling, a new piece of laminate ceiling surface covers up the removed portion.
Its back to original design!

SBS518A is another bus with modified AC unit removed. now back to original AC design.

Actually,if u have noticed,many OAC DM Mercs have their extra aircon units removed.SBS472Y,SBS473U and SBS500A are some of them.When i saw SBS500A on 135 last week,it didn't have it's extra aircon unit.Was quite shocked to see it removed.
SBS503S should have it's extra aircon unit removed also. -

hmm...SBS503S all along got no extra AC unit added... I'm a bit puzzled why SBST removes the extra AC since they their lifespan ending soon? -

Mostly if u have observed,the Mercs that have the extra aircon unit are the ones that are refurbished and have their lifespans extended now.

Not much difference.But u can see two small square marks at the back of the Fuji aircon for the Mercs which have their extra aircon units removed.
I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me but if u have observed very closely for the Mercs which had the extra aircon units,u would have saw that the original Fuji aircon unit looks quite longer after the extra aircon unit is removed. -

Actually,u are right.But there are many DM OAC Mercs which have really good aircons also.Too many to list out but i will just say some of the best which i have took before which have really fantastic aircon.

Oh yeah thanks for reminding me.I took SBS525D before also.It's aircon is also really very powerful.
