Though display colours are similar in orange, but I feel that the SMRT ones are larger & more visible from far. Would've preferred if SBS's display slightly larger (with a "big" terminating destination, such as "SENGKANG). What's your view/s?

My views ah. Stick to desto better.
SMRT's EDS current layout ( newer buses have the route no and Terminating Destination/route details switched. UMW Dennis Lance's EDS only show the terminating destination/misc. messages. )
1)[Route No Terminating Destination] occupying the whole EDS
2)[Route No Terminating Destination via route details]
3) Refresh back to [Terminating Destination]
whereas SBS's current layout is
1) [Route Details > Terminating Destination Route No.]
I prefer SMRT's EDS layout -> Telling the passengers the destination in the whole EDS when it refreshes. The font is nicer too , the name, something tyre font.

maybe the SBST EDSes should, when it refreshes, go back to the older system telling the whole destination, den go back to the current one. what u think

chey
i like 9672C EDS
Will be cool if all the SMRT Merc OC500LEs have a similar EDS display like TIB1034D.

Coolair EDS are ok but quite bright.
The problem with the Coolairs are that they frequently screw up, hence the EDS details become jumbled up and basically you cannot read anything that's on display.

i also
Cool Air EDS have a lot of variations on the KUBs. Especially those batch 1. Their EDS is like one side bright, the other very dim.....
i still prefer transit media. cos i'm used to its configuration.
maybe off topic
when i first heard about the EDS to be used in the K230UBs, i thought somebody mixed up the EDS brand with the aircon brand to be used on the new buses.![]()

Yes I know what you mean.

haha. just press the letter then the code. LAWO a bit more difficult lar..up/down arrow..but if you know how to do it, it'll be easy.
I think whether EDS or Desto, displaying the destination is most important because sometimes people may know which service number to take but dunno from which direction to board.
For SMRT buses, I think the orange EDS is indeed brighter and easier to see from afar. But I guess this is because the EDS is new. Those older models with the usual green ones are gettting fader in the day. At an angle, I thought that bus isn't in service...![]()
But I think worse come to worst, I can refer to the information display about the route info on any bus-stop if I'm lost.
