What I observed on 1224...
When the speed closes to 60 km/h, there is a rapid increase or RPM over the range from 2000 to 2200 RPM, the maximum governed speed the engine can run at, according to the tachometer. The 2000 to 2200 RPM comes about 55 to 60 km/h, when the RPM would increase to the maximum that the engine can be told to run. Not sure if this occurs to other Voiths as well.
Voith : Climb hill (GOOD)
ZF : Pick-up , acceleration (GOOD)
what's the point of haviing a high RPM but pick-up, gear change is slow ?
while ZF dosen't have much RPM as voith have but performs better than voith ? Singaporeans rush here rush there de, Voith is so not suitable on public transport in Singapore . Other Country Voith maybe can , one more thing Voith is smoother , Zf is kinda of jerky , you prefer save time or comfortable ?
Hmm.. Which gearbox do u guys think tht will be installed on the Yutong?
Pls vote!

If I'm not wrong, ZF4HP500 should be out of factory production now.
i reckon they will be going for a 6-gear auto gearbox.![]()

Allison is the best !
has the demonstrator arrived?
its taking a long time to arrive..
gearboxes from original manufacturers or under licence made in china?
if made in china - bad choice

who knows. the buses e.g. Yutong seems pretty reliable, gearbox being licensed to be mfg in China should be ok ba.
if cannot just swop with a compatible gearbox from the spares ![]()

Taking many MIC buses here in Wuhan
One word to say: Suspension is bad, it will bounce continously when it is travelling on bridges or uneven road
Btw do they use leaf-spring(or spring-leaf) suspension or air suspension?

Most likely air suspensions for the more modern buses and coaches like Yutong and King Long. Can't imagine that they are still using leaf spring for their new buses right now (the retiring UDs, anyone? :D) . Are the buses in Wuhan the modern type or the older type?

......Ha, you are wrong. Most new buses in Shenzhen are using leaf spring.......=,,=" , as i know Buses on Rt.59 in Shenzhen are using air suspensions, others are using leaf spring.
As i know the new buses in Shanghai and beijing are air suspensions, the Suspension is similar to EU buses

er...
guess i should have mentioned the capital beijing in my previous post. lol.
My Higer tour coach in Shanghai uses leaf-spring suspension. The bus will bounce continuously when travelling on uneven roads. Very uncomfortable

Most of the King Long coaches here in sg are still using leaf springs, and it does really bounce continuously when travelling on the expressways here.
The only good thing is that the shock absorbers seems to be doing a pretty good job compared to the UDs.

...the EDS MIC (Coolair) and not from LAWO/Transit Media/Hanover?
...the engine MIC and not Cummins?
