I think it would be the expressway svcs to test out the speed.

858 better ![]()
Hopefully will be WLDEP (Damn, here I go on rambling about, PUT IT IN WL, and WL NO WAB)
Or at least anywhere along a route back home, which includes Yishun, WRI, Thomson, Clementi etc. XD
What if they put it on WL 981/SP? Or 858? Asian vs European brands......But the roar of the Yutong engine would probably be magnified by the enclosed, small space of CGA.
Well, time to wait and see.....shouldn't be long now!
More Mercedes will go on 178. So only 1 service with many Mercedes Buses put on 178 may have a chance in getting that Yutong Bus.

what if it's more Scanias go 178?
and your logic makes no sense. You mean any svcs have many Mercedes buses will have a chance to get the Yutong?

As if public buses can speed.....
Originally posted by Scania:As if public buses can speed.....
some buses their speed limiter is broken de.
Although to be exact speed in public bus is 60km/h and 8033D i believe he meant testing the performance at 60km/h as real world scenarios will require it to go at 60km/h if the driver is behind schedule.
Or at least how fast they can reach it at least. Some buses take forever to get to 60.

forever.
the engine is really powerless.

The Mercedes go on 178 wasn't I said. I was base on AEW5001 post

ok fine...
still u havent explain why u said like any svcs have many Mercedes buses will have a chance to get the Yutong?

Even if public buses get unlocked, take for example a ZF Merc O.405, its already at high revvs at 80 kph (ie struggling), whereas private buses' crusing speed is typically 90 kph or 95 kph in Singapore.

Ah, but from a recent bus ride on a Batch 2 OC, the 6-speeder transmission is more than able to reach 80-90kph without much stress. The engine wasn't whining, nor did the retarder.

Can a Scania K230UB speed at 80-90 KPH?

I have took so many kubs on expressways which simply don't have acceleration at all and just stay at ard 45 km/h.Although i have to admit that a few kubs i took be4 have sped quite fast but definitely not as fast as 80-90 km/h.If kub can really hit that speed,i really salute it man.

can. You can be prepared to pay for the summons later on ![]()
But what will happen if it actually manages to reach 90KPH? Will it whine really loud, or will the engine break down?

If the driver of a Scania K230UB can speed to 80-90 KPH , I will salute to the driver.

whine lor
at gear 6
I don't know why but what's the fun in speculating what svc the Yutong would be deployed onto, and whether it should be put on certain services so that the speed can be tested out.
These are rather unrealistic stuffs to be put up onto this thread.

Maybe Rapid Penang ![]()

Well private bus operators are as close as what you can get for speed lovers. There are a few Yutongs doing morning Premium services as well if you want some kind of preview.

at most 80 during downslope only =x
saw it last year on 185 after it exited PIE from the slip road, towards clementi direction. from the flyover onwards, the bus just kept on accelerating from 40kmh [the usual speed at a PIE slip road, provided got ram accelerator abit]. the condition was achieved partly due to not much traffic coming from the slip road and that the BC was rushing for time of cos. [dur to many ppl]
