put 927. tourist service HAHA.
put svc927??? Might as well ask SMRT to add a new bus service which serve all the attraction in the east west singapore. Bird park, zoo, reptile park etc etc..
Yutong Yutong Yutong...
Anyway I've realised after a long time. Why service 307 got lot of new buses whereas buses at wldep are all old buses. Their body structure are like going o fall off. Especially service 187 and 178. alot of old buses.........

Ironic considering WLDEP is SMRTB's (fromerly TIBS) newest garage.

cos 307 is a WAB service, and woodlands regional interchange is not WAB-ready.
it's just coincidental that a poor ridership service like 178 happens to come under wldep and had to deploy older buses. once again, we must say, it's nothing against wldep.
do read up more....
Hahaha.. Yah true enough. can consider a garage for all the old SMRTB... Sheesh.....

IMO KJ has over-deployment of their OC buses. Come to think of it, why does 307 need full fleet OCs? The current quota for SMRT is 60%, there isn't a need for 100%, I feel that the extra buses can be deployed elsewhere.
In fact if you look at the current deployment of OCs across the 7 WAB services, AM seems more capable of deploying their OCs than KJ that just push all their OCs to their WAB services. If you reduce the number of OCs to 60% you probably can have enough to start another WAB service.

Talking abt these, i have never come across a PIW taking 307 b4 since OCs were introduced to this svc.
But its actually quite useful for OCs to be deployed to 307 rather than CACs since many old folks from teck whye take this svc to somewhere else and they dont need to climb so many steps just to get inside the bus, rather than CAC O405s - 3 steps just to get inside the bus.

That would probably be the same reason as to why 851 has full fleet OCs on full day - excluding splits and other stuff - maximize loading since it wouldn't justify bendies but needs to load more people.

Actually, from my point of view, grouping similar buses together is not a bad thing. Just that in this case KJDEP decided to group OC into 307.
Having similar vehicles together can help maintain frequency, coz different vehicles take different time for boarding and alighting. Just for e.g, hispano o405 rigids probably uses the least time for passengers to board and alight, as theres no bus stop lock fitted (the bus can move off while the driver closes the door at the same time), OCs cant do this due to the safety feature. If the two types are mixed together, it may also be a factor why buses bunch together.
My mum saw a PIW taking svc 307 before..

True. That's why 851 has pretty bad bunching problems during peak hours. And so does any service in SG that has a significant amount of WAB buses mixed with regular buses. An exception is when you have B9s, since the B9's have a faster acceleration time than most VO3X
And I like 178 because of the old buses XD. New buses just.....suck. Most don't chiong, chiong also not that fast. 178 also has excellent 'express' sectors during off peak.

siao.
I was still thinking of WLDEP 969. That will be my bet.
Do you guys really think tourists take 138/927/925 to the Zoo? ![]()
Let's stop being naive here, the bulk of them would actually have chartered tour buses.

yah.
If so, they would even take a TAXI, and wun take our buses. SMRT buses are so "failure" with DAFs on 927(on my latest 927 ride) So crowded....
Btw is 926, not 925

I would say do have tourists do utilise 138 to get to the zoo, orchard to amk takes only a few mins by mrt btw. Have seen tourists taking 138 to zoo for several occasions.
As for 927 it is true tat not many pax takes this svc, perhaps only the zoo staffs will take this svc to cck. Some pax from cck/woodlands rd would oso choose to take 927 instead of mrt to zoo n xfer 138 to continue their journey.
