The EDS at the back very big........
Yutong on svc 621:

like i said... just a matter of time.
China Buses seem much noisier than the usual buses...whenever a King Long or Yutong bus passes by, the roar of its engines seem really loud. is it just me or is it really?

It really is very loud. Not just you. Even their midibuses are louder than our O405s

Asthetics wise, it's not bad looking.
I'm glad to see Singapore city bus operator to buy the Chinese products, I think SMRT to buy Yutong Low Floor WAB bus is the very good start~~

I'm agree, even though in Hong Kong, the radiator sound from Yutong coach is very very noisy, I think Yutong need to improve it as well~~

so now its a direct competition between the famously loud VSOs and these. ![]()

I think the Yutongs will win. VSO I can't really hear them when opposite side of road. Yutongs, well, can hear them from my house.
Bus model looks good to me ![]()

merc i also can hear from my house. xD
for me i heard a Scania Strider braking outside my school, which is about 100m away from my classroom. imagine how loud is it. and also, can hear a KUB horn distinctively from my classroom as well.
at least the o405's or vso's or whatever noisy buses sound nice. i wouldn't like these yutong buses roaring like some 'mad bus'.
Hmm... Shldnt this kind of buses be doing the Sentosa shuttle service, which is much better? Why have China made buses for public uses while having the Volvo B12BLE which is i believe made for intercity coaches.
SMRT gets the China buses while Sentosa got a high powered vehicle running at a snail's pace. Shldn't it be the other way round?
Anyway, there should be a demonstrator right?

As Yutong isn't undergoing mass production for that bus to be shipped to SMRT, it most likely is a demostrator in the picture.

VSO the noise is only concentrated on the front right side of the bus, where the radiator is.
for the yutongs, and especially the Higer buses before they merged/bought over by kinglong, the noise spreads around the whole rear portion of the bus, where the engine is.
you should have been there when 9844Z revved its engine in hougang int last year.
everyone in the int, incl some drivers, turned around with the "WTF WAS THAT!" face ![]()

woah sentosa has B12's!?
if the B12's are registered under the RU plate then it isnt worth to have a 12 liter, probably 400+hp monster crawling around at a slow speed!?
