Hey.
Im a person living along the Bus No.147 route.
These few days i've been noticing alot of bus breakdowns of only the Handicapped Double Deck Busses. I find it disturbing although they give a complimentary ride after that. I was almost late one day due to the fact that the bus broke down and i had to wait for another bus. I've asked a few of my friends and they have similar thoughts. Could it be coincidence or that the busses are having problems as a whole. I just wanted to know your thoughts
Cheers for SG, SGforum
at where?
Near the xinmin Secondary School and Bowen Secondary School.
It never fails to surprise me when it breaks down
breakdowns are inevitable.
even cars breakdown.
although part of the reason why B9TLs breakdown are because they suck ![]()

wow heng ar not hear my sch there (u know where ar) same place hougang and same Ave as xinmin lol
nobardie can predict when a breakdown is gonna occur..
its just ur luck if you happen to be in a bus dat breaks down 1/2 way thruout ur journey..
Haha. yeah. But its dumb to have to wait 20 mins to have the driver try to fix in the bus in vain. Making all the passengers including students who are on their way to school wait and missing a few other busses that they could have taken
there are cabs wat if they can't wait..
at least the BC made an effort to try & fix watever the prob was..

if i were the driver, i will set a time limit. i will declare breakdown once the behind bus reaches.
i'm pretty sure that nobardie wishes a bus to breakdown especially during the peak hrs but like wat i mentioned earlier, no1 can predict when & where its gonna occur..
except for the time I rode 2988M and 8031J when they broke down
Its true but im worried about the students, they cant possibly afford taking a cab everytime the bus breaks down
then its time for the students to invest in bicycles..
even if u write to sbs transit, they will reply you back with their standard template reply..
That day I was at Boon Lay interchange, I saw SMB OC500LE getting towed inside with a mechanic...![]()

I also have been noticing that this service breaks down fairly regularly. I was in your situation before. Given a frequency of 11 mins during off peak hours and 7-10 mins frequency during peak hours, the waiting time is doubled. In cases like this, the next bus tends to be more crowded. So, if any complaints or feedback, you could always contact SBS Transit should there be discomfort or unhappiness during your bus ride.

I believe you can request to alight and board another bus? It's not like a case requiring the intervention of the police.

there is still other bus svc wad like 74 165 etc

I don't think intervention of the police would delay the bus ride for too long. I took service 133 and saw 2 plain clothes police and one SBST senior bus inspector. The police just boarded the bus and arrested one guy on the bus. It was a bit random lol.

pleased to inform that this thread is one of the featured topic..
Hi Everyone,
The low-floor Volvo B9TL is quite an interesting bus with quite an enjoyable lively performance, both in terms of the engine sounds and acceleration.
Corsica, with regards to the breakdown issue, perhaps you could note down the following and provide feedback via the SBS Transit website...
It has been sometime since I have provided feedback at the SBS Transit Website but I reckon the following information would prove helpful for them to investigate:
- the EZ-Link card number (at the back)
- Bus Service Number
- Direction of travel
- Boarding bus stop (bus stop number)
- Time of boarding
- Bus registration number (License plate)
- Incident details. (For example, any special warning sounds, did the driver restart the bus, rev the engine, etc (I think providing as much information as possible would enable them to identify the problem precisely in the shortest possible time.))
Regards,
Ebenezer
plz be prepared to..
expect the standard template kinda reply..

Yeah, with a great speed limiter of 60 kmh. At 50kmh the dashboard already 'DING! DING!'
lol no wonder i feel that 147's frequency getting abit too screwed up sometimes.
But yes, expect the standard reply.cos SBST got monopoly wat.:)
