  It isn't short. It is just that there are too much express sectors.
  Advantages:
  He used the scenery route. Benjamin Sheares Bridge. :)
  This route serves quite a lot of places of interest, which includes VivoCity and Sentosa (which requires transfer to the SE or bus at the interchange).
  He made it as short as possible.

  More suggestions:
  Use Henderson Road, so that you reach Bukit Merah easier.
  Bring tourist to Suntec City and Marina Bay Sands, you will beat 36 in that. :)

  945 reroute

  After bus stop at Bukit Batok Street 52,bus turns to Street 51 and then to West Ave 5(3N bus stop). Likewise,after Bukit Gombak MRT station,bus goes straight instead of turning and serves the NR8 bus stop before turning to St 51 and then St 52.
