Yeah, it does link but i think it's abit long winded. Maybe try cutting down by not travelling down to Bt Timah/ Farrer/Orchard Area and use other alternatives instead. And maybe, why not create the other route to compliment this route, like what i do sometimes. Yeah, have to transfer but think if you were the bus captain driving it. Try not to make it like 51. Good worth thou :)

But i am kind of curious y SBST operates 51 like u said long winded.

If i were the BC i would love driving long winded routes as they are relaxing.The old route from Jurong East to Chinatown is very 143- minus the 1 big round at Teban area. That is why it had to be amended to it's present route. To me, it's quite long winded but i salute the BC for tahaning such routes when i cant :)

Well Glencsoh, what i did was splitting the routes into 2. For both routes, i tried my best not to lose as much of 164's original route with abit of amendments. Hope you don't mind with what i've come out with. By the way, i had to use google maps to think and really plan on how to make this work.
Note that Passengers can transfer at Thomson Rd and Commonwealth Ave West to catch either service. Refer to the points bolded in Red.
