  You say it merged with 192 to become today's route, but at that time, it terminate at Hougang South. Go back and think where is the difference between 1988 route and current route.

  506 needs more demand. Converting it to trunk will further encourage ridership as well as compliment the Jurong East to Bukit Batok sector. Residents in Bedok Reservoir also have greater accessability to Tanah Merah and Upper East Coast. Furthermore, it will compliment SBST svc 5 which often encounters over-demand during the peak hours.

  Converting 506 to trunk might help

  But not into lengthening w/ duplicating sectors when PIE is a heavily congested corridor - place where care needs to be taken in scheduling.

  Using DBTF it's not worth it anymore

  Furthermore it's indeed faster to take 506 to Toa Payoh than e MRT esp during off peak.
