Introduction:
During the NUS open house (14 March - 15 march), a next bus arrival LED screen was fixed up and working at the School of computing enrolment booth in the open house event.
The LED screen showed when the next "Tour bus of campus for open house" would arrive.
Now! (ShuttleNet)
Today, Forum member Sv 966 (NUS student) spotted the LED screen afixed at the Engine canteen (opp Central Library) bus stop. and the Central Library (NUS Arts) bus stop.
These LED screens showed not only NUS internal Shuttle Bus Svc A1 or A2 but also showed when the next svcs SBS transit 95, 96 and 151 would arrive.
Also a website for NUS students to use was launched. those with Wi-Fi phones can tap into the campus wi -fi network, log on and proceed to this website for real time arrival information of ISB A1/A2 only.

hardware?
The NUS ISB buses are run by ComfortDelgro Bus and based at the prince geroge's park ter.
in late 2007, When I was a student in NUS,, I observed new consoles being added to A1/A2 buses . They look like they were ex-Comfort taxi GPS interface consoles. it is likely that this hardware is working on this trial.
At that time, i wondered if the School of Computing faculty students could be coming up with a"Final_year project FYP " on NUS bus tracking.
i think today,, their efforts finally paid off and they have the hardware set up working for this trial.
Congrats!
We would like to congradulate the CIR lab students / faculty members at NUS School Of Computing , for successfully coming up with this system for NUS bus campus tracking and real time arrival information. I am very sure a lot of hard work was put and effort also.
tracking of Svcs B, C and D and the BTC 1
in time we hope the system will take on the trackking fof the other NUS ISB services.
At current present state the system is not tracking these bus services within campus.

more info (after reading the wiki)
1) Wi-fi bus tracking is the technology. I have read several posts about SMRTbuses bsues logged onto some wi-fi system in this forum. i wonder if that is the same technology...hmmm interesting.
2) Indeed the NUS campus wifi system runs on such nodes. Some rather poweful like my dear faculty of Scicne (great surfing speeds) , some rather weak in some areas of the campus. My personal experince with the wi-fi in campus. hee hee hee
3) Only a few buses have being tracked. not full fleet. no wodner the freq like very bad liddat. hahah
4) it is likely that buses serving Svc D are being tracked as A1/A2. oops

OT: Where does BTC1 go to? I know roughly the routes of A, B, C and D but im not sure about BTC1.
BTC has a freq of 20 to 30 mins. it runs between NUS to the Law Campus at Bukit Timah.
hence real time info would be greatly appreciated for this said svc.

I see.
Hope CDGE will give arrival info for BTC soon.
it is stated clearly the project is by CIR of NUS SOC . it is in partnership with CDGE. not CDGE doing it.

Eh CDGE or ComfortDelgro Bus? One is engineering, one is bus services.
SOC also has the small iris LED display for SBST and ISB at the bus stop opposite Central Library since the open house at least.

i use both terms interchangeably. lol.
