That'd be a joke. Usually similiar models are supposed to retain most (if not all) of the interface so that little retraining is needed. We don't see A320 pilots learning from scratch just to fly a A319 for the first time.

For Airbus it is called fleet similarity and type ratings. Unfortunately the interface for buses isn't so same~... The A320 family uses the same type and crew ratings.

From scania euro 5 talk until aeroplane eh, so now I finally know that A320 is a Euro 5 engine. So what about the Singapore Airlines A380?? Is it a Euro 6?? ![]()

Yah.Some of the svc 81 BCs are still having problems with the Euro 5s.Was waiting to take SBS8585C on 81 last monday.BC kept coming out of the bus many times to check the front, side and rear EDS before he signalled to us to go in.Then we he tried to reverse, the bus didn't move at all but just kept on jerking. The feeling was really sickening man. After some really hard tries, the BC managed to reverse the bus slowly although it kept stopping halfway and jerking. After we finally reversed out,the BC still wasn't able to steer the bus properly causing it to move very slowly and almost making it come to a stop. Many buses trying to exit the Int got jammed behind our bus and a svc 291 kub BC who was right behind us,got fed up and kept blasting his horn at us.Only when we reached Tam Ave 7,that the BC somehow managed to drive the bus properly even though he seemed nervous and drove very slowly and cautiously.Bus kept giving out 'farting' sounds also. Can say that he couldn't master driving the Euro 5s properly as fast as possible.Seems like this BCs need more time to adapt to the steering of the Euro 5s.
Just want to ask.Is the controlling of the Euro 5s more complex than the Euro 4s?
I think so. Just like what you've said, happened to one of the BCs in svc 3. He drive drive like very scared or horrifed of the bus.... Then he kept his ankle area at the seat there......

8881y as well
basically, i feel that the euro5 kub's have exhibited a marked improvement over the euro 4's.
the bus now feels like a quality product, not the rattly, light, hollow and jerky euro 4's.
the euro 5 feels much more stable, braking and acceleration jerk has been largely reduced. the new dashboard is much more stylish, and when changing gears, it barely jerks.
the new engine fan design isnt so annoying now.. it kinda blends with the engine sound at times.
although ride quality in terms of suspension damnping can be further improved, ithink this has gone a long way since the euro 4 kub's, in terms of refinement. the new bus is also much quieter and sems to be better insulated against road noise.
today 8880 109 =D

I defintely agree with your post.Including the turbo whistle sound. That is one of the features that makes the Euro 5's engine sound very nice.
