Think about it, all MB0405s are registered between 1990-1992. The last MB0405 (SBS581R) will definitely go off in 2011 when it reaches its lifespan of 19 years. Whereas the first Volvo MK4 (SBS882Y) is registered only in 1995, it will go off starting from 2012 provided there's no extension. Volvo MK4 DM3500 still got a long way, the last fleet (SBS2838M) to go off will be in 2017 after 17 years. Volvo MK3s will be going off for sure, starting this Nov till June 2010 after reaching its lifespan of 17 years without refurbishment.

Ok. Stop. I smell flaming coming cuz last time also had such a discussion of "unconfirmed" info of MK III's retirement.
Anyway, we can probably disucuss wether if K230UB will actually go 160/170 for that matters.

Wa piang... Better not let the brand new K230UBs go into JB (u know what I mean
). The best is to let the K230UBs run a few years along Singapore roads first before deploying them into JB routes.
But then what I know is that BBDEP took in a number of MK4 DM3500s from various depots since last year, purpose is to deploy them to JB services 160/170 when the MK3s are about to retire. Till now still no DM3500s modified and registered with the JB government as yet?? ![]()

Well, even though the Scania K230UB don't go Cross border now, it doesn't mean that it won't have the chance to go cross border service in the future if LTA mandates full bus fleet WAB or something.

Then when the repair bill comes you foot?![]()
900 of them - improved frequencies
after smash up less than 900 - not good frequencies
the look on every front of JB-registered Scania - priceless?
Folks check out HK's version of K230UB
