Is it TRUE tat LTA is putting a ban on Bendy Bus? Why is the ban? Bendies too long n occupied the rd space?
I had seem quite a few bendies caught fire. What r the fate of Bendy Bus in Singapore?
I do like Bendies n ride on it very commonly everyday.
Is it possible to c new bendies in future? I am waiting for the day SMRT launch Bendy Bus WAB...
If Bendies really ban, it will b an disadvantages to SMRT n prehaps had to intro DD bus to support the passenger load? =X

i like bendies too, in fact it loads and unloads faster than DD, u know, at busy bus stops, people who'd like to board the bus have to wait till the alighting passengers are clear, simply because the two doors are too near
LTA always argues that bendy takes too much space, but how much saving can they get if all bendies are changed, perhaps much less than cutting off 100 COE every time
but when peak, at the bus stop the bendies really will take up space, then less ppl can board or alight
Then what's the point of building longer bus stops?IMO they better dun ban bendies,Just reduce the numbers is ok.Example for service like 851,Just 6 bendies would do.To make less congested just park at depot during off peak.I'm sure they can do that with current less than 10 mins rules
The bendies can carry more passengers than the DDs since Passengers can only stand of the first floor of the DDs. Thus its more efficient. Some people may argue that often times, the bendies have less than a carriageful of people. This problem would be has to do with improper allocation of resources. Some services have much more bendies than needed and some services are really in need of them. Allocating these resources properly might also cause less congestion of the roads. bendies shouldnt get banned bah. Also, sometimes i see people cannot board bendies. Then went the bus drive off and leave people behind, oftentimes the back carriage only got about 2 or 3 ppl standing. When i see this sometimes i feel sorry for the people left behind...
got bendies dat can allow physically challenged people to board?

IMO, bendies are best for feeder services since people woundn't want to climb up stairs when it is just a few stops to their destination.

but it would be a bit of problem if e lorongs / streets r not easy for bending.

Yes agreed feeders and short haul should use it
If they introduce the WAB zero step bendies sure best one. easy zero step accessiblity to the next place you want to go plus it loads and unloads faster.

prob is, our depots are not designed to stable 14.5m buses...
if other country can have WAB bendies on the road, there is no reason why our Singapore cant have WAb bendies like this:

That's why -_-", can convert?
IMAO, I don't think bendies are good. They may save time, but they bendies are often sickening.
Reasons...
1) When seating at the back, it is very bumpy. My friend even hit his head on the AC.
2) Take up too much space. I know we can build longer bus stops but why waste the money?
3) No privacy
I prefer ADDs. It may pick up passengers slowly but it is a good choice. Tourists from other countries with only SDs buses will love to take DDs. As for bendies, the 'feel' is not so good. I am very grateful that SMRT didn't buy bi-articulated bus... It is such a bumpy ride.

Bendies gd for places with height restriction like Bt Timah Rd

True, for those Bt Timah Rd svcs. Which is why I feel that LTA should put a limit on the number of bendy buses SMRTB can have/buy rather than completely stopping the purchase of such buses.
Another example is the NR svcs on christmas eve/new year eve. The bendies needed to cope with the demand on such nights are able to pass through River Valley Rd which DDs cannot do so.
LTA wont bluff ppl ... cos they say mostly accident by bendies , "piak" here "piak" there like fish like that .. but if they were properly maintained , bendies may not be banned ...
SMRT ma.
spot before at orchard turn 190 3 bendies, 700 1 bendy, 124 merc, 143 2 B9TLs.
result: buses stretch all the way to the junction at grange rd and orchard turn.

Care to explain?
I think bendies have their own merits.... Perhaps due to space limitations on some roads and depots that make their existence not feasible in the long run. Even so, I guess that doesn't completely warrant a ban on them.
