Fyi, if you wan 2 take pix of moving bus[like i always do], take into the account bus speed, if bus is not speeding, before it approaches, hold up your camera, take note of the approaching bus, count, 1 2 3 SNAP! the bus SHOULD APPEAR in the centre of your picture...

decent photo, but try to centralise your object more (i can see it leaning more towards the top).
and if possible, maybe can slower the shutter speed so as not to have the annoying flash rate spoil the eds. 1/100 is ideal for a full eds if you have manual control over the settings.

WOULD YOU MIND YOUR LANGUAGE?!
Don't you get what AEW5001 is saying?! HE SAID IF AND IF YOU THINK YOU ARE TOO "PRO" TO BE ABLE TO ONLY CRITICISE OTHERS ONLY, GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE. I find it pretty ironic that you say that he says all people who post here and reply here are lousy photographers.
WHY DON'T YOU DO SOME SELF-REFLECTION AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU SAID OVER THE LAST FIVE PAGES before posting again. AND BTW, PEOPLE WHO HAVE COCKY CHARACTERS LIKE TO ACT SMART, THINK THAT ALL ARE INFERIOR TO THEM, AND OF COZ, POST CRITICISM like free~. Apparently what you did over the last five pages just shows that... Classic act of arrogance...

Oh... And you do know that everytime you and your clique of people who share the same ideology as you decide to prove your superiority, it becomes like this eh~...
And I am very sure He-who-shall-not-be-named must be enjoying every single bit of the nonsense going on here... YOU WANT TO FUEL IT AGAIN?!

Bro..
I acknowledge yr frustrations over his reply..
Really appreciate if you could settle this by PM-ing him, rather than creating a big hoo-ha here. I've learnt my lesson as I've been flamed and flamed people before..
This would affect other bus fans who are here to post photos of buses..
Or should someone create a forum, strictly for flamings.. Hehehe, that'll be a good one..
Nontheless, happy lunch time (:

Sometimes it is because of one's pride that cause this kind of misunderstanding.

would you just shut up and get back to photos topic? this is not a criticism session and you dont have to dig up posts to flame. or should i say you just spoilt this page with your flames when its supposed to be a "fresh start and everyone gets back to topic" page?
keep your flames to PM/MSN instead of firing all over the place and in the end getting yourself a bad image.

hmm my advice to you is try to get used to familiarise with functions of a DSLR first. different brands have different settings and functions. sometimes you have to compare between cameras in order to decide what you really need.
For eg between a canon EOS1000 and a nikon D70, the colour setting for EOS1000 is better in a sense that it captures real colours. a D70 with sunny settings have colours which tend more to red and i have to set it to flash lightings in order to capture the colours closest to reality.
and i wonder if you know that its better to get DSLRs with remote control functions. personally, i prefer those with remote shutters because i need not set any timer in order to capture images when using a tripod. this is especially useful when you are taking shots of buses at night which only stop for a couple of seconds, or taking shots of fireworks.
ISO wise, try not to whack ISOs at a max because of the noise in the image tends to be more when taking photos in a dark place. and normally for sunlight shots, ISO of 200-500 is managable, but avoid using ISO1600 since the dark parts of your shots will be sparsely scattered with some noise (unless you are telling me that you are using nikon D3X which has a high ISO of 6400 max and for that, ISO1000 can be reasonable still)
one more tip - normally for buses with EDS of a slow flash rate (i.e 1/50-1/200) i will manually control my settings. if you cant really gauge whats the shutter and aperture to use at that instant, either use shutter or aperture priority so that you know how fast the shutter is going to be like in variable conditions when a picture of reasonable exposure is taken.
