Dreads. Soon, some bus services would be withdrawn..
Haha, hope not, but it's not anyway.

it's ok, everyone makes mistakes.
Oh yeah. One more thing. For collectors out there, you can buy the Circle Line commemorative stamps from SingPost on 28th May 2009. Be sure to grab it. I hate myself for not buying the North East Line commemorative stamps..

Is there a train forum?

OF COURSE...but it's less densely populated unlike here.
Thank you. If not for you, I would'nt know that there were such forums.
Anyway, I read in the papers that the first few months of the Circle Line operations would not be making a profit. Personally, I prefer taking buses than trains. Which do you guys prefer?
If Circle Line is better than buses, of course I would choose Circle Line. The Train is so super lo,
But the train would be crowded as it is only a 3-carriage train.... With so many people taking the train, what if we face a serious problem of trains reaching its maximum capacity within a few stations?? This would be another nightmare..

Won't de lah, only a few station, for now most likely not much ppl, as it does not rach the city.

Seriously, with full knowledge of overcrowding on EWL/NSL, what were they thinking? Never mind about order 3-cars and running them in this formation for now, they can always order more later. They should have just built stations to fit 6-cars. When the crowd comes for real (perm or peak hrs), at least they can couple them together, and order additional trainsets if needed.
If they already know there are serious concerns about meeting the frequency to squeeze everyone on board due to signalling limitations, then all the more they should have longer trainsets. Even the Taiwanese knows this, doing the same on the Muzha Line. The problem is going to come back to haunt them in a decade or two. Same goes for DTL, also 3-cars.
But whatever it is, I am excited about it. I am going to ride the train on 28th May...

Can shorten service 53 to terminate at Serangoon interchange already. Again, if so, service 53 might become full HGDEP control ![]()

Withdrawn = cut buses = SBST can buy lesser new buses
Service 53 duplicates along CCL Stage 3 between Bishan and Serangoon. Service 853 might be redunctant too.
Service 70 also duplicates along CCL Stages 1 and 2 when these stages are to open next year.

Service 853 isn't redundant. It only goes to Serangoon Station and not other CCL stations. It does not go Bishan, it goes to AMK.
I HATE TO SEE BUS SERVICES WITHDRAWN.

My concern is that some pax might choose to take the MRT from AMK/Yishun, then transfer to CCL at Bishan for Serangoon

When the decision to choose automatic as the operation mode it already signal a bad end, adding on with three train carriages and so on...
Trains, yes, can add later on. Perhaps its the infrastructure side not doing well enough. Well three carriages does sound short, but a platform for three carriages (and that's about being permanent) sounds ever shorter.
Three carriages and three carriages long platform plus comprehensive bus network helping it, no one might be able to spot the problem. Kill the bus and live (die) with the rail, we hope this will not happen.
If I can, I would like to convince people that buses are not inferior to the MRT. Bus services like 168,161,965 and 969 are faster than the MRT. Some of my friends argued that MRT is faster than 168.. How stupid...
70 should amend to terminate at sgoon.
