bus cheaper also
thing is, say Tampines - Paya Lebar/ Ubi, you remove some buses to make ppl take e CCL.. but they'll need to take e EWL somewhat, so that means unknowingly they're trying to overload e EWL tat's alrdy overloaded?
I think they'll still thinking 1800 per train is 'practically' possible

we seriously need DTL and North Coast Line
I saw one of the future MRT map and I understand that the North Coastal Line would connect Woodlands to Punggol and Tampines.. This would mean that bus svc 161 and 168 would be cut off.. What A SAD FUTURE TO THE DEPRECIATING PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM of Singapore...

Nowadays the capacity easily hits 180 percent in peak hour, in fact its 200 most of the time...
There is this formula for calculating how much percentage a train carries. A carriage is said to be 35 percent full when its fully seated. This is 50 persons (for normal carriages). 100 percent (fully seated and 90 percent grab handles full) is 142 persons. Times six carriages is 852 passengers. 1800 passengers mean 211 percent full...
