Train, bus ridership up
Commuter numbers set to rise further, with expanding rail network
THE growing population, an expanded rail network and rising motoring costs have sent public transport ridership up for the fifth year running.
And the trend is likely to continue - in line with the Government's push to have more people commute by trains and buses.
Based on preliminary data obtained from public transport operators SBS Transit and SMRT Corp, the number of average daily trips on buses and trains hit nearly 5.04 million last year.

7492T wasnt even on 88 on the 18th of feb. probably some bird car driver trying to find some trouble and snapped it at this position. this is taken after the last stop of amk ave 6 twd psr. sv88 buses have to filter 2 lanes right from the bus stop to the right lane as they need to turn right to amk ave 5 to buangkok green. BC will definitely use the blinkers to filter right everytime as they still have to exit the bus bay and cut into the next lane. i bet stomper just wants to find trouble with sv88 BC's.. if they think BC's are bird drivers, what about those driving their private vehicles and cabs? they occur 90% more than buses. they think buses forever slow drive at 20kph so can anyhow ge as they wish. i've seen 447X on 231G along tpy lor 4 moving off the jackson sq stop and a malay female from lor 3 wanted to turn to lor 4was busy talking on the phone, no car still talk, then when convo ended, put down phone, then without looking just drive off and turn right. 447X was moving at like 40kph and had to E-break just because of these bird drivers. similar cases where cars anyhow turn at junctions risk the lives of BC and pax on bus. selfish ppl only. cars are the ones that nv on blinkers when filtering lanes. cars are the ones that park in bus bays and expect buses to turn at tight angles just to get into the bus bay. cars are the ones that think they can hit 90kph in 1 sec. thats why i say, COE and price of cars should hit sky high. then ppl will feel safer when taking public transport. maybe stomper needs me to video about cars luan luan lai.. just sit on upper deck sui bian on vid have le. i srsly wonder how sg ppl pass their basic theory. X box also can park there stationary during red light. -
