Ugly X'mas tree
I saw both the Clementi MRT (town centre) and NP (standard) one already.
the standard poles actually look kinda normal. it looks not much different from the typical one and to me it just doesnt feel "fresh" enough.
I believe the typical man-on-the-street uses the guide at the bus stop and look at the respective letters and colour codes to determine fares, so removing fare stages are no biggie to me.
and the area below the bus numberings are for SWTs and whatever timetables that used to take up one plate and cram up the pole. its a good idea to move it all below, though it ought to be more prominent so people will realise that.
and why is it that they are "seeking feedback" without offering avenues for us to actually do so?

A nonfunctional one that serves no purpose
Only serve to waste taxpayer money...
I think they should have kept the old one... Change have to spend money that is not of paramount importance...

Although the non-basic services can still be identified by their colours, but to me it makes no sense to remove the "brand" of the services and only put the number alone, since there are still sufficient space above the number to put in the "brand" as in the old system, this also make them more easily identified as non-basic services.
Below is my suggestion based on my inspirations with Changi Airport's giant aircraft schedule at the departure hall. Looking at the new bus-stop pole opp Trellis Towers, I think is pointless to display such a big "island" icon and taking much space. Also, there should be a space to display the Wheelchair sign for bus-stops that are wheelchair friendly.

I always thought of this design, keeping it simple.

I actually like this one... Plain simple and easy to view.
Originally posted by The Soon:I always thought of this design, keeping it simple.
plain, but details of FFW, SWT and sort makes it tricky
also e WAB issue, dun forget not all svs are WAB

Yio Chu Kang (Opp Blk 139) bus stop has many bus stop plates just on the pole. 2 normal plates, 70A, 76A, 147A, 156A, 103M/103M timings (3 of them), SMRT NR6 and 70M.
Imagine how messy will it be if Express 501, 501A, 502 and 502A are still around.
Cheers.
Maybe we'll be made to count the number of plates at Raceday...

579....ah...??? hehe
actually the new poles not much diff.......waste $$$$ that can be used to make more realistic improvements

Nice design... but I think allow the bus plate to have 2 tones of colour would be better. Easy to spot from afar...

579 can go and scrap already. Can't be bothered with it anymore.
Now if 576 was still existing it would make commuting much easier for me.
Edit: Or SBST could start by introducing $1/- student fare for Express 518 [/wishful thinking]

Is LTA reading this? xD
Just a side qn: What if there are new services plying the streets? Will they paste stickers again?

should be bah... can see in some of the photos that there are empty blank boxes. ;)

Looks like that's the only method for now... better than adding extra plates sticking out here and there... making it look rather unsightly... haha...
