there's a dedicated road outside Seletar camp, no need to do 3 point turn liao.

The last time I took service 103W (now 103M), there was no 3 point turn at its looping point. After Seletar Airport, the bus turned right to enter a un-named side road, turned right twice and then turned left out onto the main road.
Not sure about now.

This is how service 103 loops currently.

Most of the times, the buses that arrive at the Ter also dosen't park at the designated parking bays for them and instead just parks at the alighting bays and depart from there again.Such a big area for parking seems to be wasted.Sometimes only the police cars that do inspection will park there. But for me,the most record i have seen there was seeing 2 Mercs(1 DM CAC,1 WA) and 1 VO2X parking at the parking bays. But there was still another WA Merc parking at the alighting bay at that time. That was my only time seeing so many buses parking in the alighting bay of Tuas Ter.
the most i saw was abt 10 i think ...mostly the old 183 buses...
anw...why not they use tuas ter for coach buses to terminate there for awhile or sth like the old woodlands checkpoint? i've seen tourist transfering from s'pore coach to malaysia coach near there...why not they take advantage of the parking space in the ter?

The PA there is 360-degree turn(there's a roundabout), there's a junction 4 Pasir Ris Rd and Eilas Rd, about 45-degree turn, so bus occupys both directions when turning

Yeah, BCs park their 170B buses along Woodlands Rd like no one's business
umm... is 96B counted? The only difference between it and 96 is 1 stop... it stops at Clementi MRT, while 96 terminates at Clementi Int.

yeah
96B is needed so that the bus can go back onto Clementi Ave 6 and into the AYE before going back to Kent Ridge skipping Clementi Int.
Oh... no wonder... lol...
I was also thinking why it terminates at Clementi MRT and not the int....![]()

how bout the former service 921 that u-turn at Petir Rd End ? (before Petir Rd extension)
Originally posted by Ajen:how bout the former service 921 that u-turn at Petir Rd End ? (before Petir Rd extension)
After the extension, rigids still continued making a u-turn at Petir Road. BC had to look carefully from the bus stop and cut into two lanes to make a u turn back.
Rigids are still deployed on 921 and subsequently replaced by a Bus Plus due to safety concerns until it merged with 700.

Cos save the time needed to turn in to the interchange. About 5 minutes.
NUS students don't really transfer buses at the interchange anyway. They transfer to the MRT or walk around Clementi Shopping Area.
BC can save time and pick up a new batch of commuters over at NUS.

wonder why cannot keep 921, since feeder have feeder fares, still cheaper
dun forget to mention service 405 =D
looping at
And service 975 (exSMRT 175) terminates at Lim Chu Kang Road End

They can make money on trunk services, as it allows people to travel longer distance.

I think that is why feeders 220, 226, 290, 294, 321, 322, 326, 327, 328, 382 & 385 as well as TownLink 357 were replaced with trunk routes.
Not to mention the demise of 227, 274, 331 and 371 due to duplication by other trunk routes.

Yup. That was some time ago... That one is not really a road, more like a dirt track. But when I took 103M yesterday, I found out that due to the reconstruction of the Seletar Area into an aerospace hub, the road linking Jln Kayu all the way to Seletar Airport is in the process of widening and the looping point of 103M is now changed to a three-point turn. The previous "dirt-track" is now a proper paved road which doesn't link to anywhere now.
Sv. 23 also has an interesting looping point at Rochor Canal Road... Route goes from TP -> B.Reservoir -> Jln Kolam Ayer -> Bendemeer -> Jln Besar -> R.C Road -> Serangoon Road -> Jln Kolam Ayer -> B.Reservoir -> TP... Unlike many loop services that goes road X -> loop -> road X, 23 doesn't. In a sense 23 has a wide "loop radius".
And 858, one of the longest looping services(based on time) loops at Changi Airport. SBST buses don't really "loop" there, they "terminate" there.
966 and 15 loop at the round-about at Marine Parade/Amber Road there... 966 has got to be one of the longest looping services(based on distance)...
A little off topic here as the topic is about strange places where bus services loop or terminate... But...
I think Sv. 3 is unique in a way... Because it is the only bus service in SG that actually truly transits thru another bus interchange... From Bus Int X to Bus Int Z through Y...
Service goes Tampines Int to Punggol via the stop outside PRis MRT Stn, and the return trip from Punggol to Tampines goes into PRis Bus Int and carries on its journey to Tampines.

Before Clementi Interchange moved to its current location, all services which call at the Clementi MRT stop have to disembark all commuters there, which makes S96 buses off service directly from the MRT stop to Kent Ridge to start downroute.
Now with the current location, there's a need to differentiate this minor detail.
SWTs can also do downroute. They need not start from its originating point. e.g 3A, 62A (last time), 195A just to name a few..
