everything seems to be $$... anyways, if MRT can replace buses for being faster, there are always ppl who prefer a ride tat's direct and comfortable of getting a seat
I think she can just do away with her Premium Rts

I agree it might be a bit far stretched. But considering the fact that Singapore is being overpopulated, the above ground structures, skyscapers, roads, water areas (ponds, drains, etc) is getting heavier and more stressful to the underground structures. And not to mention other underground structures together like underground sewages, cables, pipes, etc that will eventually make the underground foundation more unstable.
And do not compare UK or other European countries with Singapore since these countries are far less densely populated as per area. It is just like comparing durians with apples.
Even if it doesn't collaspe, think of the long term problems, leaks, cracks, etc. Long term maintenance and operations is still a problem forever.

in the future they start using tunnels made of very strong glass to go across water...
dun forget, London itself is quite densely populated too
mmm.. now RapidPenang seems to be learning from SBS instead

Iwould prefer taking buses than trains.
Cheers.
i have always preferred taking buses to trains.
Trains may be fast, but buses are more direct.
I also like to look out of bus windows and enjoy whatever view there is on the outside.
But in the MRT, most of the time is underground, or some stupid advert block your view when above ground.
