At least Singapore got the largest order in Asia. Does that means ours are cheaper than other countries since we bought in bulk?Cheers.

It is exploiting marketing economies of scale. The large firm(sbs) can buy buses in bulk at favourable rates. It is also able to dictate its requirements with regard to quality and delievery much more effectively. All these mean that sbs can get their buses at a reduced cost.

The Rapid Penang Scania buses may be K270 or K310. not certain yet.
The dashbaord does not signify if its a EURO 4 or 5. So by looking at dash you cannot tell.the bodywork is in fact by Volgren (According to my freind) . unsure which volgren body as of now because... ah hem where is the front pic? i reckon if its Volgrenn it might be one of those CR224L bodywork
bus is IN FACT low floor and has one of those slippery non grip mannual ramps. Youc na see some skid marks done by some whheelchairs on those poc.
Nice use of side beamer lights for extra safety when at night or dawn. Those beamer lights r a feature from Chhina or Taiwan countires.
When we get more info, we'll confirm many facts

K230 or K270 or K310ZYX
K230/K270/K310-wise, true, Penang may have different needs.
But for bodywork, it makes no sense to import when you can get the local one for a decent quotation (that's why SBST chose them, no?). A lot of CR224Ls I've looked up have OmniCity fronts, so having a front shot does help.

the euro4/euro5 assertion was made upon my observations. singapore's kub's have different dashboard designs btw the e4 and e5 ones. the euro 4 ones have the tachometer on the left, speedo in the middle and the lcd screen on the right.our euro 5's have the tacho on the left, an lcd in the middle and the speedo is on the right.

The front has similiar physical structure to Euro IV/EEV, save for the location of Scania badges, and a smaller black surface (as a result of center cover).
