Interestingly they have wheel covers over their rims and they configured it to be a two piece windscreen. Otherwise it's more or less similar to the SBST's K230UB. The bus doesn't seem to be vibrating in the video so i guess they might have fixed the vibration issues?

singapore's bendies are actually more stable. swinging maybe people complained due to the bounciness of the back of the rear section, but lateral swinging i think its rare. rear wheel drive bendies like our O.405's tend to have a heavier rear section, with the axle, engine and gearbox all at the rear. hence, the rear end tends to be steadier, unless we're talkin about slippery ice roads, then any bus wouldn't stand a chance at all. bendies that tend to swing are mostly those with the driving force in the middle axle, and the engine up front (B10m), leading to a very light rear section, and so, has more tendency to swing. then again, the buses in singapore rarely travel fast enough to make the rear end swing, and even if it were to be a B10M, or any other bus with engine and drive in the front section, from what i see all over the net, such cases rarely happen unless:1) the road is icy and slippery. wet roads, not exactly possible.
2) driver is driving at a stupendously high speed and then makes a sudden sharp turn, throwing everything off balance and makes the tail section swing.
Yeah u are right.Buses in singapore don't speed that dangerously and the bendies also don't swing that dangerously everytime i had seen. The BCs always steer them accurately. If there was an accident in which a vehicle was whacked out by a turning bendy, then at least it can be said that bendies are dangerous. So far, nothing like that has happened so bendies still can be said as not so dangerous in singapore.

Penang has their own port. Same to KL.
Ship from manufacturer to Sg to Penang equals to killing their own pockets (and brains).
Maybe towards Gemilang Coachworks? Or some new body manufacturer?

towed by sg or m'sia-regged trucks?
It looks like there has been changes.
The 10.6m bus version is powered by a Scania K270UB chassis while the 12m bus still remained to be powered by the Scania K230UB chassis. Currently, a total of 6 units of the 12m and the 10.6m is currently on the road in Penang but the 12m bus will be transferred out of Penang to Butterworth to cover its duties there by the end of this year. So the 10.6m bus will stay in Penang.
Currently, one unit of the 10.6m is stabled in the depot so as to provide training for the Bus Captains as well as training for attending a wheelchair person. The bus will not be deployed for service. It is like the Demonstrater Unit.
Bah.. SBST's ones (both exterior and interior) look much better ;)

Heard from my friend who recently went to Penang.
Rapid Penang uses Scania K270UB, not K230UB.

Aha, yeah.
The buses were assembled by DefTech in Pekan, Pahang. The Scania Malaysia website has a photo of a completed bus in front of the new Kuantan Service Centre.

Yup he's right. All Rapid Penang Buses are using a Scania K270UB engine chassis and not the K230UB chassis. I guess the wrong info has been spread.

LoL!
But nvm,
everyone must remember, it's K270UB, not K230UB.
Euro III, I think.
