Why do they need to do a Road Resurfacing in some area? Who knows what's the problem to be road resurfacing?
Sorry, i maybe in a wrong forum, but i don't know where to post, sorry!
Hope to receive some reply:)
Thank you!
usually its done after roadworks whereby they dig a trench to lay those pipes, cables, etc..
the road doesn't look good & its not done evenly by those workers once the job is completed..

okay i see too.. but after the road have been resurface, it look like a brand new road, smooth and no uneven hole already..
and also, how do they paint back the marking?

shortly after the road has been resurfaced, there's another team in charge of the painting back of road marking..
If I remembered correctly, I saw them pushing this trolley like thing containing a tank with the paint inside & at the bottom there's a flame..once the road markings are done, I saw them spread some powder like thing & pour some water over it which I think its to enhance the drying speed of the road markings once it is being painted on the roads..
wow okay! How you know all this information? Where did you get from man?

well, you can say I've interest in these kind of things & I've ever saw them at work..
oh ya btw, not all resurfacing cases immediately the rd markings will be painted on & some they will take a few days to be done & you can see this sign "No Lane Marking, Drive With Care" being placed before the resurfaced rd with no markings..
usually it happens on the expressways..
okay, i and you have the same interest too, but i just don't know where to search for this information.. you know where can search more about it?
Talk about markings, they need to measure right? How they measure? Are lane marking very important?

try google, the info I provided was based on my own viewing them at work..
for the measurements, they got this type of stencil so they juz paint over it & what's left is the rd markings but mostly is for those arrows only..
of coz lane markings are impt, just imagine a resurfaced rd without lane markings..

wat do u need to know?
Asphalt is a mixture of bitumen and gravel/sand heated to an excess of 190 deg C in a plant and transported to job site. Temperature of the asphalt must be at least 160 deg C before being paved.
A cold milling machine skims a layer of the road surface (50~75mm). New asphalt is dump into the hopper of a Asphalt Finisher for paving.
The compaction is done by a tyre roller follow by a vibration tandem roller. A laser leveler is used when paving new or long road.
Thermoplastic paint is pour into a road marking machine to mark the road.

WOW! You work in this environment? How you know all the steps and quality? I'm only interested when they are resurfacing the road, just have a habit to watch them resurfacing, is like quite fun to see and how they cover up the old road..
Anyway thanks for sharing the information with us:)

Hi, these picts may help explain better =D
They sort of having a template marking, and then place the template facing down, finally using the machine to "iron" (Heat) it over o.o

Thanks for the information and the pictures too! Is useful.. Anymore pictures or how do i get this pictures from?
Thank You:)
Actually, the pictures shown are the thermo paint, which last longer, usually 1~3years, depend on the traffic volume.
Actually it is very easy to understand for the thermo painting. Firstly we burn the thermoplastic ( powder) till melting, then we use another machine(the marker), with proper mechanism, the melted thermo flowed long the line pre-marked.
Here you may find some pictures/video for the marking process.

There are also big marking machines, truck loaded, which has high efficiency, either by flow or spary.
