Rubbish, TS incident is just the ice tip of all kind of ridiculous bus arriving time. I still remember a thread abt waiting more than 45mins. So many reply, people curse and swear. I go to many forum, plenty of reply cursing stupid Sg public bus service. It not as I malign abt public bus in spore. Its a real live fact that Sg public bus is not really worth what u pay and the worry of so many people held ramsom by public transport. When u talk abt what non efficient transport system in other countries. U must remember we pay more than them for personal transport.
That's so true.
But I have little complaints for the public transport in general. I still get from Point A to B in a realistic time I project when I leave my house. Even if it is also a fact that I do not have a choice but to take public transport to get around. And yes, you're also right to point out that the govt is indeed making it difficult for us to get personal transport. There are many barriers in place, and for good reasons. Even without the barriers, our roads are getting a little crowded. What happens without the barriers?
So what does this mean? You simply do not have a sense of time and choose to blame the system whenever the "opportunity" arises.
You think the world revolves around you? You expect buses to pull up whenever you arrive or mere 5 minutes after you arrive?
Even though I feel the pinch of the bus fares now, I'm pretty ok with it generally.
You said "U must remember we pay more than them for personal transport."? Isn't it the same theory? Why public transport here is comparatively more expensive compared to our neighbours (let's talk about regional areas first)?
If you can't make use of the system in place, and you're unwilling to open your purse, then stop abusing the system and your ability to spew unfair statements.

yeah quite long already...want 2 c wad excuse they give this time:)
I realise that some people on the first page of the topic is seriously not thinking maturely. We have to realise that with us heavily depending on trains, we will face problems if anything happens to the train network. One example, the underground staffs strike in London caused major standstill to London's train network which cause people to take buses. Commuters who usually commute by train and do not have knowledge on the bus services were badly affected. From this, we must learn that we must not have any prejudice on any means of public transport, either buses, taxis or trains because they are basically the means to get around. We must also know the alternatives to trains to avoid unnecessary over-crowding in our train network which I observe is happening in SG.
