Introduction of Service 284M

  Service 284M will be introduced on Monday 29 June 2009. Notices are already put up at Clementi interchange and bus stops along the route. Online press release not up yet.

  The route of service 284M:

  Clementi interchange, Clementi Ave 4, U-turn, Clementi Ave 4, Clementi Ave 3 (NTUC Fairprice), Commonwealth Ave West (Clementi MRT station) and Clementi interchange.

  The parent service 284 will be changed to operate during the peak hours only, while service 284M will operates during the non peak hours on weekdays, weekends and operates whole day on Suns / PHs. I did not take down the operation timings.

  Sooner or later, the distinction between those short services labelled A, B, C, D, M are gone.

  lol 284 route so short need introduce 284M? i rather those shopping at NTUC Fairprice to walk all the way to clementi int.

  somemore 284 looks like low demand.

  I see... I rmbed 284 still displaying the old nac destos that displayed 'Clementi' and its loop destination.... kinda bring back good old memories of NAC buses.

  In tat case, new 284M should merge wit 96 or any trunk services lik 14, 147, 166 instead which goes through Fair Price Stop.

  Sure can earn money de.

  To JaSoNhSu92 & SBS9364S :

  Service 284M is introduced for residents living along Clementi Ave 4 to get to Clementi NTUC Fairprice w/o the hassle of taking Service 284 to Clementi Temp Int & transfer to Service 14, 96, 147, 156, 165, 166 or walking to Clementi NTUC Fairprice.

  Another new service introduce aft residents feedbacks to MP/SBST?

  they better be gone soon

  might as well just re-label into another number. got all these lettering damn confusing. if got short trips variants, A will do, but not all these.

  then what happen to residents who want to go ave 4 from NTUC ? as in after shopping they want to go home ?

  btw 1st feeder with a variant "M"

  Was wondering if the route was made this way:
  Clementi Int > Clementi Ave 3 > MRT > Clementi Ave 4 (U-turn) > MRT > Clementi Ave 3 > Clementi Int

  i like this route... SBST shld have done it this way... but then how to turn right from MRT to ave 4 ?

  Anyway, I feel they have the intention to scrap 284 sooner or later.

  The main objective of this service is to cater residents from Ave 4 to the central conveniently without walking from ave 4 to the central. More or less is to fully utilised Sv 284. Not a bad idea but abit wierd in my opinion.

  yes a bit late. the amendment is to due to the longer distance and road crossing required to reach ntuc from the temp int compared to the old int.

  oh ic. I get it now. If the new int is opened, does it mean 284M will be withdrawn ?

  btw, it's a gd idea if they merge 284 with 282... the return trip to int got "T" desto at the front
