today's 20/06/09 Wanbao
Apparently Joo Koon, Boon Lay & Kranji are listed as potential sites
But Boon Lay has bigger potential given e fact there's a big bus park available once BNL Int moves back
why not tuas? so much parking space not used...

tuas ter was supposedly suppose to have services to jb. but apparantly it became a failure cos it is too far and too out of touch from the whole of singapore.

Very unlikely that they will give up a big piece of prime land for express bus terminal. They have been talking about this for god know how many years. If they really wanna build 1 terminal, they would have done so like way back in the 90s. No need to wait till now.

distances makes it bo hua... end up very high fares

the thing, the whole day ppl up there in admin dun even bother abt it
They're willing to let it make Beach Rd haphazard but not atas Turf City in Bt Timah though it's spacious.
This matter still has to be resolved if we wants to be good for tourism market..

The thing is that..
Even if they wanan set the place over at Truf City in Bt Timah, there wouldnt be much passengers who wants to use it. Afterall, the place is not as accessible as compared to the current Golden Mile. This is the reason on why majority of the bus operators chose to stay in Golden Mile instead of moving over to Turf City.

That place can be redeveloped as in move it nearer to Eng Neo Ave tat side.. need not to be inside Turf City itself
DTL would be there too
To give e real picture, the Turf City thing was shot down by govt citing traffic issues
IMO it is not a good idea to have a centralised coach terminal near a HDB estate.
I would prefer it to be build in places like Kranji etc.
That means that all express buses operating from Singpore to Malaysia starting from all over Singapore will start from Boon Lay Interchange.
Lavender Street & Kallang Bahru- Malacca Buses, Transtar & Transnasional
Golden Mile Complex - Sri Maju, Alisan,Grassland, Five Stars etc.
Golden Mile Tower - Konsortium & 707
The Plaza - First Coach & Union
Habourfront Centre - AeroLine
Copthorne Orchid Hotel - Nice & Odyssey
ParkRoyal Hotel - 88-Lapan Lapan & Suasana Edaran
IMM Building - Causeway Link Express
Far East Plaza - Airebus
Textile Centre - Eltabina Express
Kovan Hub - Citi Exchange
Therefore will all this Express Buses will starts together in Boon Lay Int??

I doubt all will gather there, will be quite messy.
Cheers.
I don't think so. You can see all buses mostly in the morning and night only whereby most buses move out of Singapore to Malaysia. Evening is where most buses entering singapore to pick-up passengers at night to malaysia.
IMHO, Kovan can also be another M'sia Express Hub as there's still plenty of loading and parking space for them. Beach Road is a bit too squeezy, causing traffic congestion sometimes.
Cheers.
i hardly think they'll all go to a common place.
ultimately, their different terminating points in our country targets different passenger groups/demands...
If they want to recycle BLTI in this manner, the scene might be going to end up how Larkin is right now.
Jurong Point is going to have a roaring business, but I doubt the residents are going to be very happy about this (unless they go KL every week!), and we are going to have the combined public buses and coaches traffic. In the old BLI days, the public buses queuing by only one way to get into it was already such a pain!

i thought it had. i remember going there once and seeing the remains of a berth with a sv262 to Larkin
I think they might usw the Boon Lay Temp. Int to convert as a Express Bus Terminal. In this way, they could attract visitors from Malaysia to shop to nearby Jurong Point. SAFRA Jurong and Jurong Park is also a place where they can have their lesuire activities.

Agree, as what I mentioned earlier, not all will gather here, as it'll be crowded and messy. Maybe most of Beach Road services can move there, some can even move to Kovan too, as there's still plenty of spaces there.
Cheers.
