PTC's List of bus service applications for Nov 08 to May 09

PTC has just released its list of bus service applications for the period of November 2008 to May 2009. Of particular interest is the withdrawal of Service 11 and SMRT's continued efforts to reduce losses with yet another attempt to shorten Service 852 to Ang Mo Kio Depot and this time round, to shorten Service 985 to Toa Payoh (both of which naturally got rejected). Some of the applications: Ric Tat Transportation - Premium Bus Service from Bukit Batok West Avenue 2 and Shenton Way/Orchard Road Cheery Bus Transport Service - Premium Bus Service between Sin Ming Avenue and Marymount station Bus Hub Services Pte Ltd - Premium Bus Service between Yishun/Sembawang Road and Orchard Road/Shenton Way Plus 1 Your Preferred Transportation - Premium Bus Service between Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 and Alexandra Road. - Premium Bus Service between Serangoon North Avenue 1 and Shenton Way. - Premium Bus Service between Sengkang East Road and Anson Road. Woodlands Transport Service Pte Ltd - Premium Bus Service between Brani Terminal Dormitory and Pasir Panjang Terminal. - Application to operate Shuttle Bus Service between Aljunied Road and Kallang Way rejected due to non-compliance with the Shuttle Bus Service guidelines SBS Transit Ltd - Amendment for Service 128 - Extension of Parks Service 408 - Feeder Service 241 from Boon Lay interchange to Jurong West Street 91/92 - Amendment to Service 242 - Amendment to Service 243 - Withdrawal of trunk Service 11 due to weak demand SMRT Buses Ltd - Application to cutback Service 985 from Lorong 1 Geylang Terminal to operate between Choa Chu Kang interchange and Toa Payoh interchange rejected. - Application to cutback Service 852 to operate between Bukit Batok interchnage and SMRT Ang Mo Kio Depot rejected. - Extension of Service 882 to serve Wellington Circle, Montreal Drive and Montreal Link.

So those which did not state rejected ==> pending or approved?

wad abt last yrs one abt extention of 48, intro of 117 etc? they still haven been put to plan...sbs abandoned it?

Should just be cut to a peak hour + weekend service imo...
SMRT still trying hard with 852, hahahaha. But the 985 one seemed reasonable....

I agree weekend service. The loading for Kallang Leisure is quite high during Sat and Sun. -

why move 985.... =( then Serangoon road no link to NW liao...must take bus into tpy.

If dun hv any 11, ppl need 2 walk 2 national & indoor stadium. -
As for 48, probably waiting for Circle line Stage 4 and 5 up and running, then merged both SBST48 and SBST95 service.
Anticipating many buses in BV to be withdrawn once Circle Line Stage 4 and 5 starts operating.

For some reasons, SMRT keeps wanting to withdrawl 852, but never made any moves to try to improve the loadings for the service (lenthening headway excluded).
