Nvm let's just see how this bus will fare when it comes out.
Just because they are made in china doesnt mean that they cant perform well. I doubt you have rode on 1 before.

I rode on King Long buses before. Quiet ok.
This bus might be for Woodlands Transport. They won the bid for the WAB BT shuttle. Plus the tender specified the layout of the buses using the K230 photos. This might explain why the spec is like SBS Transit's, if it's really for WTS.
I have rided this type of bus before. Although it is made in china, I can said that the ride is comfy compare to the european make.

Did i even say if they are made in china means that they can't perform well?Don't assume too much if i didn't say so.
And fyi,i have rode on one which was chartered for a funeral.I cannot remember if it was a King Long or a Yutong.Think it was a King Long if i remember correctly.Have to say that the ride was really smooth and comfortable.

Those buses have been around for quite sometime already.
CNG wise, it's easy to install on-site in Singapore.
But hybrid buses is a completely different issue.

Thing is again, Woodlands doesn't have any Chinese buses in its fleet till now, so its quite hard to determine who this bus will go to.

Kinglong Hybrid Bus Starts Service in Singapore
English.chinabuses.com: on Jun. 23, Xiamen Kinglong United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Kinglong) held a grand ceremony to mark China’s first hybrid bus, Kinglong XMQ6121G Hybrid bus being exported to Singapore. The bus, is also reported to be the first of its kind that will be put into service in the country in Southeast Asia.

Singaporean government has long been attaching great importance to energy saving and emission reduction so as to maintain the city-country’s hard-earned reputation as a garden city. In 2008, Singapore mapped out its blueprint on clean energy and made it quite clear that it would strive to become the center of the world in demonstrating application of clean energy products by the middle of 2010s.

Charles Tan, President of Kinglong (Singapore) took interviews from the media
As the third largest financial center in the world, Singapore is also one of the busiest ports and the hottest tourist destinations around the globe. According to some local media reports, it is estimated that the market demand for new energy buses is somewhere around 4,000 units in the country. In a bid to take a share of the alluring market and project a good brand image, a host of bus builders have long been coveting the small country, including Benz, Scania and Yutong.

In order to take advantage of the government’s favorable policy, Kinglong followed closely on Singaporean bus market and offered a bus which was later put on trial operation in the country. Moreover, the company kept contact with the related government agencies and provided detailed information about its hybrid buses. Taking into account of Singapore’s warm and humid weather conditions throughout the year, Kinglong rolled out XMQ6121G Hybrid bus, which is equipped with stainless steel body frame and is particularly erosion-resistant. Other amenities of the new bus include seat belts and special lift for those physically challenged.
