There are many different types of bodyworks on the buses, from the good old Alexander PS design to the modern looking Gemilang bodywork. And each bodywork's design seems to speak a story for itself, e.g. the Hispano Habit -> modern and timeless, the CDGE B9 bodywork which sets it apart from the other double decker bodyworks in Singapore with a one piece glass windscreen and a smiley at the headlight bumper area.
With the exterior looks, the interior looks of the buses is defintely a factor to let the passengers enjoy the ride. The Hispano Habit is one nice example with the pastel blue interior and bright orange grabpoles with Volgelsitzes for a comfortable (although dusty) ride.
So this thread is for the discussions and views of the bus bodyworks and the interior design that comes with it. Of course, it's not limited to just SG buses but to overseas buses. Maybe can see a Wright bodyworked K230UB one day ![]()
(keep the discussions civil :) thanks)
Able to maximise the interior space usage while making it aesthetically beautiful seems to be the aim of some bodywork manufacturers. Wright is one very good example, having about the same seating numbers, they also managed to install panels inside to induce a cosy feeling. The colors used on the 2006 batch of AVBWs in Hong Kong further enhanced the warm feeling. Definitely its one of the citybuses that I took that gives a coach feeling...

Upper deck, AVBW20/MG4804.
Though a feature of many modern double deck citybuses, the straight staircases on them do occupy more space than a older bus of the same class.

Just an incident. There was this elderly sitting down on a Scania K230UB next to me. She then exclaimed in Chinese saying that the cushion of the seat is too thin.

Dusty too. I remember patting the seat and a cloud of dust will rise up.....
Rmb that time i went with my neighbour and my dad to LCK farm, then come back we actually went to the opposite side, so we end up going to LCK Rd end. BC go toilet, so me and my neighbour kept patting onto the seats. Tons of dust actually bumped up lol

TIB1252R (gone) was one of them.
If I remember correctly, 2 UDs had Vogelsitze seats. Uber dusty, until it was more grey than green XD. Didn't dare whack, cuz scared later so much dust.
The vogelsitezs were recycled ones i think. either way they are the old design vogelsitezs and super dusty. abit of a weird combo where old meets modern -> old interior meets modern vogelsitez
thanks
.....the OAC seats are better than CAC ones.....

may i knoww what is furry seats, OAC seats???
I think 9888Y is trying to say the green 'arrow' pattern seats. No more furry, now all just squashed sponge and cloth.
