why do boon lay need a aircon interchange
?
so that the prices of property over that side
will go up?
Integrated public transport hub at Boon Lay to open in December (CNA):
SINGAPORE: Come December, Boon Lay residents will have a new air-conditioned bus interchange.
Up to 60 buses, 31 boarding-alighting berths and retail outlets will be
seen at the upcoming Boon Lay Integrated Public Transport Hub
(Integrated PT Hub).
The bus interchange, built over 20,000 square metres, is the Land Transport Authority's (LTA's) biggest to date.
The interchange is linked to Boon Lay MRT station via Jurong Point 2 shopping centre.
Ong Teck Chuan, deputy director of public transport promotion, LTA,
said: "Commuters can look forward to a comfortable and seamless
transfer between the bus interchange and the MRT station. And at the
same time, they will have the added convenience to pick up some grocery
or to do some shopping."
All entrances and exits of the new interchange can be accessed by
wheelchair users. And it takes about three minutes to walk from the
furthest bus berth to the MRT station.
But the 150,000 existing daily commuters will have to wait until December for it to open.
Mr Ong said: "Principally, we are really thinking of the students
who will be taking their year-end exams. I think this is one of the
reasons as to why they have scheduled it at the end of the year."
LTA said six more Integrated PT Hub will be built over the next 10
years, with those at Serangoon and Clementi expected to be completed in
2011.

Well, sure... got Safra Jurong, MRT, BL Int, NP park connector and Jurong Point as 'icing to the cake'. Boon Lay ain't the sole interchange that is air-conditioned. Clementi and Serangoon will get the same treatment too. Lucky residents over there but still, they have to tahan the noise and pollution over there as well.
its just like another ang mo kio style interchange layout..

it has been up since about two weeks ago.

Outside JP1 (near the taxi stand), there is a new underpass link to JP2 (Basement 1 shop) and bus int to L1.

anyway 31 is correct. 22 end-on (B7 to B17), 6 boarding sawtooth (B1 to B6), 3 alighting sawtooth (though with 5 entrances so A1 to A5)
Make sense perfectly. :D
22 end-on berths, i guess there'll be 2 of it for each bus service, therefore 11 bus services will be using it. Then, 6 boarding sawtooth, each has 3 services, like what most of the sawtooth berths in the temporary interchange has now, making up 18 bus services. And a total 29 bus services. I think that there will be 2 sawtooth berths with 4 services, which is very likely.
