and by 'fixing' it probably meant adding more weight to places that were 'weightless' before, thus explaining the uninspiring performance

I know about this. I've seen their video before. But it only applies to their Completed bus range. The chassis range werent tested in such manner. Its up to the bodywork maker to provide the safety measure.

Yeah the MK2s were my most fav buses. My non bus fan friends in school also always described the MK2s as the 'cat engine noise bus' cuz of its unique 'meowing' cat like sound when it accelerates and moves off. Then after they were scrapped i started liking Mercs.Too bad now we dont have any more unique sounding buses like this MK2s anymore.Greatly miss them and their unique 'cat' engine sound.
At last, our wish came true.
The order is for 150 double-deckers built on the Volvo B9TL chassis. The chassis will be produced in Borås, Sweden, while the bodywork that is to be made by Wrightbus will be mounted in Singapore. Deliveries will occur in 2010.

Finally, wrightbus. Comfort DelGro bodywork doesn't seem appealing to me.

yea, MK2s were all in my mind sia, esp rare cameos of MK2s down my house, makes me think of it. 1881T on Townlink 293.... sob sob...

Great. If that is true, most likely it will be based on the Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 2 bodyworks, which is modified to for 6x2 chassis and for SBST operations..
Does that mean CDGE bodyworks failed?
A good time to compare the similarities of Wright bodied and the CDGE ones.
Simply good news! imo, I think the 1st version of Wright Gemini looks nicer. Haha!
I think it's probably chosen in line with the design they went with when they designed 9889U's/B9TL's bodywork. The front, side and rear are quite lookalike.
How about the Scania? Is it confirmed they are using back Gemilang for the Scania?

Most likely Gemilang again. Just have to live with it.

YAY! These new B9TL may be the 'next gen of OCs' lol.. And i cant believe these B9TLs are equipped with Wright bodywork, so koooooool.. Lets see if these buses are with EDSes or not..

I hope there will be a surprise for the Scania

omg
it's like the buses in London !!!
Nice, Wrightbus! First UK-based bodywork in recent times!
KMB in Hong Kong is already operating such a fleet :

I think SBST using Wright Gemini II.

Most likely since the Wright Eclipse Gemini is likely to be replaced by the Eclipse Gemini 2, which is a new product for 2009. But just hope that SBST will incorporate EDS for the route display panel instead of the usual plastic destos.

As for the 200 KUBs, if SBST wants to purchase a mass order of Wrightbus bodyworks, then this might be a suitable candidate.
Wright Solar
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_Solar
The Wright Solar is a low floor single-deck bus body built on Scania L94UB and later the new Scania K-series chassis by Wright. An articulated version, the Wright Solar Fusion of similar appearance was available for the Scania L94UA.
In 2008, Wrightbus also built the Solar Rural on Scania K-series chassis for use on rural routes.
Else likely candidate will be Gemilang.

Reminds me of the Leyland Alanteans with Walter Alexander L type bodies and the Volvo B55 Alisa demonstrator in the 1980s.
Actually I would like to see the Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 bodyworks as well.

Still think Gemilang would probably get the tender, though a Solar bodywork for the KUB would have the aesthetics that is rather comparable to 8030L.

For some reasons, the bodyworks didn't come in expensive for SBST this time. If not they might have some other cheaper bodyworks to choose from, or they would have bought it for the current Euro3 B9TLs. Like this sure got many people compare the 2 bodyworks.

I think most likely of some recent collaboration between Volvo Bus and Wrightbus, which might be linked to the recent launch of the Volvo B5L hybrid DD in London. Probably just like Dennis and Duple Metsec in the past.
Well, just my personal opinion though...

Will know the answer in 2010. We won't know what is SBST up to for its new fleet for now.
