  Service 61 did have route changes before, that was in the 80s.

  Initially was between MacPherson Estate and Ulu Pandan, I remember Merc OF1417 Hawkes and Albion Vikings did that route in the past. Ulu Pandan terminal was shut down in 1987 and service 61 was extended to Bt Batok via Clementi Rd and Jln Jurong Kechil. DDs (0305s and LAs) were introduced then.

  Somewhere in 1990 service 61's route was further extended to Eunos from MacPherson Estate via Ubi Ave 2 and Jln Eunos. No route change since then.

  I'll say this for e fact that u did not read my earlier reply in this thread. Do NOT attempt to post facts that are false. I'm hoping thru this thread the enthusiasts who r unfamilar with past deployment would be able to learn something from here. By you posting the wrong stuff will lead to ppl learning the wrong thing!   39, As what sbs&tibs said was introduced as a bndep service, xferred to full amdep during e 2004 depot xfer, and back to bndep when 57 and 58 were introduced in jul 05.

  In 1990s only the last two services 160 and 181 terminate at the Crawford St terminal. Previously, There was sv 195 and 209 in the past but it was since been withdrawn or amended.
  
  When Crawford St Terminal closed down in 1998, both services 160 and 181 were extended to terminate at Geylang Lor 1 Terminal and was renumbered as 980 and 961 respectively.

  its routes were:
  70 - Jalan Kayu to Shenton Way - extended to YCK ter
  103 - Jalan Kayu to New Bridge Rd
  163 - Jalan Kayu to Toa Payoh
  214E - Jalan Kayu to Picadilly (Loop) - was renumbered to 820 and then 378
  214W - Jalan Kayu to Seletar West Camp (Loop) - was renumbered to 821 and then 379
  
  The buses used:
  70 - Mainly OF1413/1417s (before amendments)
  103 - Mainly OF1413/1417s and sometimes b57s. LAs & OAC/NAC Merc O405s (WA/DM), Scania N113CRB, and MK2s were also deployed before handing of service to TIBS. During the days of TIBS, it used the NAC Nissans, Hinos, OAC Nissans, NAC/OAC Merc O405s, Scania Striders/ ELBOs and Dennis Lance. When it was handed back to SBS, it used the Mercs as well as Mk2/3
  163 - Mainly OF 1413/1417s, Leyland Lynx (SBS3572Y), Scania N113CRB, and OAC/NAC Mercs (WA/DM). During the days of TIBS, it used the typical buses like Merc O405s, Scania Striders & Dennis Lance (but OAC Nissans do appear on 163 though). When 163 handed back to SBS, it used Mk2s/3/4, Scania N113CRB, and Merc O405s
  214E/W - Uses B57s then later NAC Merc O405s. Handed to TIBS and used NAC Nissans, Mercs & ELBO. Renumbered as 820 and 821 and handed back to SBS. The sole perm for 820 was SBS3624G and 821 was SBS3600A. NAC Mk2s were also deployed on 820/821. Renumbered again as 378 and 379 using the same Scania N113CRB buses. SBS1753E and SBS1891P did serve 378/379.
  
  All along Jalan Kayu Services were based at AMDEP, even during TIBS days.

  • 9345 got HSBC and Starhub iirc,
  • 9563 Fisher Paykrel

  Still rmb 9200 got a cracked windscreen upstairs that pasted scotchtape back in 2000. That's my 12pm schoolbus . While 2693 do 119 aft 8 years of "switching jobs".

  Btw 80 and 85 deployment is partial ARBP back in 2000-2002 times? Buses like 9200, 9563 are transferred from HG or all along BB/AR ones?

  Anyway, my greatest impression is the premiere joyride on 88: A dry ride on NAC 3773 driven by a helpful (help old pple in boarding etc) but slowpoke BC whose bus crawls on TPE

  Haha. I was was in lower primary then. Interestingly I know these city routes more than hometown routes. LOL!

  I think it was 2632P. But it didn't last long. I did see 817L, but those MK3s didn't last long on 85.

  80 and 85 were under full hgdep. Most of the VOs on 111 were inherited over from hgdep. 9200G 9563J went to 111 because of the ads.

  All under bndep. After 16 amendment, these MK4 DMs were split between bndep & hgdep.

  Minor route changes:

  Amended to skip Jln Kolam Ayer and instead ply Geylang Bahru towards Eunos when Kallang Bahru between PIE and Geylang Bahru was converted to one-way.

  U-turn at the junction of C'wealth Ave and Queensway when the right turn from C'wealth Dr into Queensway was closed.

  There's also service 150 to Toa Payoh.

  59 - Bishan to Jln Kayu > Ang Mo Kio to Jln Kayu > Ang Mo Kio to Jln Kayu loop. Extended to Sengkang, became service 866 then service 86.

  70 - Jln Kayu to Shenton Way > Yio Chu Kang to Shenton Way (70X - Yio Chu Kang to Lor 1 Geylang > Yio Chu Kang to Marina Centre loop)

  103 - Jln Kayu to Buona Vista > Jln Kayu to New Bridge Rd > Serangoon to Seletar East Camp loop (103W: Serangoon to Seletar West Camp loop)

  Last time used to have South Canal bus terminal. Service 195 used to terminate there as well as old services 55 (South Canal to Mei Chin Rd) and 194 (South Canal to Yong Siak St).

  Think the old service 55 was withdrawn somewhere in 1988-1989. When South Canal terminal closed down in 1992 service 194 was withdrawn whereas 195 was extended to Marina Centre.
