That was in the later parts of the numbering system.
92x - Bt Panjang Services (920-924 range)
92x - Services that ply Sg Kadut / Mandai areas (925-929 range)
SMRT do not intend to re-number other services for no purposes unless there is a major amendments or re-routing in its service. Eg. 181 was renumbered to 961 becuase it was amended to Lor 1 Geylang Ter, and 175 was renumbered to 975 becuase of the changes of the routing system.

History ;)
I believed they wanted to renumber the CCK Feeders...but after the mess that happened at Bukit Batok, they shelved plans to do so.
I understand that Jurong East Bus Interchange was opened due to the reason of many services terminating at Teban Gardens. Is that true? Or is it because of the closure of Jurong Interchange?

The reason behind it is not the closure of Jurong Bus Interchange or the services that terminates at Teban Gardens area.
Jurong East actually started off as a roadside terminal situated at Jurong East Ctrl in 1983 as Jurong East is still under development, with services 7, 147 being amended to start at Jurong East. Service 97 was a new service from Jurong East, and feeders introduced were 333, 334, 335. services 76, 79, 99, 336 were later introduced in 1985.
In late 1985 or early 1986, the Jurong East Bus Int was opened and the services terminate at the new interchange. Service 98 was also introduced in the later stages, from Jurong East and loop at Jurong Int at Jurong Port Rd.
All right, Jurong East bus services.
Let's hear from you about the history and the origins of the bus services in this estate in more detail. :)
The first service to the infant Jurong East New Town was 76. It was introduced in Nov 1981 as a loop service between Clementi Interchange and Jurong East Ave 1 (loop at Jurong Town Hall Rd and return via Boon Lay Way), charging a flat fare of 40c.
The first trunk route to end at the Jurong East Terminal was 79 (introduced in 1982, I presume), which looped at Bras Basah Rd. The Jurong East feeders 333, 335 and 334 were gradually introduced as more flats were completed.
Since 79 duplicated the route of 147 between C'wealth Ave and Hill St, in 1984, 79 was withdrawn and 147 extended to cover its route between C'wealth Ave West and Jurong East Central. During this period also, 7 was extended to Jurong East; services 97 and 98 were introduced. The original 97 was via Clementi Rd and Pasir Panjang Rd.
Jurong East Bus Interchange opened in 1 June 1985 and with it come a few changes. Most notably, of course, was the relocation of the present services to the new site. 99 was introduced (Jurong East - Boon Lay Garden), 79 was resurrected as a loop service from Jurong East - Empress Place (later it would terminate at Marina Centre) and 76 was amended and became a loop service from Jurong East to Clementi. 335 was amended and 336 was introduced.
76 was withdrawn in 1987 when 99 was modified to run between Clementi - Jurong West St 91. In 1988, 79 was withdrawn and 97 was amended to cover Alexandra Rd and AYE while 51 was extended to Jurong East from Labrador via Pasir Panjang Rd. The present 79 was the 3rd coming, introduced in 1993.

What abt 331? and was there any 332?
Do you have any idea how 410 was dervived? I don't really understand why SBS used 41x as Bishan feeder instead of 2xx or 3xx since 4xx is meant to serve for park services.
SBS took over Jurong Island services from one of private companies in 2000, and converted from 1, 2 and 3 to 711, 712 and 713.
So, I don't really understand why the private bus company took back the JIS from SBST on 2003? Thus, They were renamed to 714 and 715.

40x is for Special services. But SBS decided to put the feeder as 410 because it plies on Green & White plate around Bishan new town.
410 was a townlink service between Bishan and Thomson/Sin Ming.

let's talk about service 143 in the pre-1970s.
service 143 in the pre-1971 was known as STC 37 but on the day of the 1971 reorganisation, the service was renumbered to 143 under the STC group, the service extended to Jurong 10ms market. Only certain part of the route remain unchangd, which was around Clemenceau avee and South Bridge Rd.
When STC closed down, the service was handed over to ABS.
Service 506 was extended once again to Upp East Coast Road in late 2006.

Just to add on. During the service amendments in connection to the opening of Boon Lay Interchange in 1990, 197 was amemded to ply via Jurong Town Hall Rd, Jurong East/West Ave 1 and Boon Lay Ave. Somewhere in 1991?, 198 was shortened to end at Jurong East, but it still went to Sims Place. In 1992?, there was a reversal when 197 was cut back to end at Jurong East and the present 198 was formed to cover its route to Boon Lay.
What is the reason behind to cancel 189A (Orginal 189 route from BBT to West Ferry Terminal (Loop)) route in which TIBS decided to shorten 189 route to Kent Ridge Terminal?

Yeah interested to know also...I recall 189 was to the Ferry Terminal instead of KRT.

Service 189 was originally Bukit Batok - Marina Centre.
Shortened to loop at Clementi West St 2 in 1989 or 1990.
Extended to West Coast Ferry Terminal in 1995.
Amended to ply PIE and Clementi Ave 6 instead of Toh Tuck Ave in 1996.
Handed to Tibs in June 2000.
Skipped West Coast Ferry Terminal and loop at Kent Ridge terminal in July or Aug 2001, also introduced loop service 189A from Bukit Batok to Pasir Panjang Terminal Building at Harbour Dr.
Service 189A withdrawn in May 2003 but re-introduced in Jan 2009 from Bukit Batok to Bukit Batok St 23.

I know. But what was the reason behind it to cancel 189A (Old 189) route?
Only allow trucks go inside Ferry Terminal, but not buses?
